All-

I now find that I should not have posted links, and for that I apologize to other board sponsors. My intent was not to harm you, or go afoul of the rules as I understood them.

Going forward, I am happy to discuss the project, but need to be careful about how I involve others.

My bad..........

What a great venture! Will be most interesting to follow the progress. Btw, I visit Blighty regularly (the mother country), if you would like me to pop-in on Mike and make sure he hasn't run off with your car just let me know

Interesting stuff. It's always good to see new aftermarket tuning options come out. I'm looking forward to seeing how this project turns out. Now I understand your collaboration with Mike better and understand why you jumped to his defense.

The interior upgrades sound like they have a lot of potential. I'd like to spruce up some things on mine.

Pulling the engine out and rebuilding it is ambitious. Has this package been done on another car yet or is it in the planning stages? I know that another tuner offers 4.3, 4.7, and 5.0 liter rebuilds but I don't think anyone has done it yet. Whenever you open up the engine it's a bit risky, but it sounds like Mike has a lot of experience with this.

Since Mike is an Aston guy, I assume these packages will come with some sort of warranty. I can't imagine he would he would have said what he said if he didn't intend to back his work both with guarantees on durability as well as performance. Are you going to put one of these engines on the Ford durability test and the completed car through testing at the Nurburgring?

Looking forward to seeing updates as this project progresses. When you get it back let me know and we can run it against a supercharged car to see how they compare!

CRVETR,

Thanks for letting us be a part of this extraordinary effort. I look forward to the updates ... or at least an idea of how the end product performs and, of course, how it looks. A mix of the vintage and the new AM will be delicious!

Tahoe-

Yes, he has done this before, but I am taking it up a notch. And there is one element of "secret sauce" that will be done for the first time. THAT is the killer app!

I use the term "rebuild", but the fact is that there is very little commonality to what we know to be a Vantage, making it more of a "build" using the block as the foundation.

+1 , now it all makes sense why you were so defensive. Did not realize you were buddy buddy with him. The connection/collaboration/bias is now public, makes sense.

I too am looking forward to seeing what they, at Ramford Bose , come up with. Should be a great project to follow. Best of luck

I would have made the same remarks had he been a baseball player and you were a fan telling him how to hit. Let's agree to disagree?

I am considering going with a V12V sport seat when the interior is redone. For those of you who have it in your car, how does it feel? I have heard they are more comfortable. I understand that there is no heating in them, but this will be a warm-weather car anyway.

A couple of advantages to this seat, from what I can see, would be:

  • Less weight, by a significant amount
  • More comfort
  • Can be put in lower than the stock seat, resulting in mass closer to the pavement.

Thoughts and comments?

Isn't the sport you you are referring to available in Europe only? My recollection is it does not have side air bags and does not meet US DOT standards as a result.

I too would love a set of sport seats. They are much, much lighter and a lot more attractive. They should have been an option on the car.

Since the car will be rebuilt in the UK, I will be legal there. Put the old seats back in to ship it home, and when I take delivery again I would put in the new seats again. If that makes me illegal, I can live with it. I don't think too many cops here will know that they are non-US. If they do, I'll offer a ride!!
