Aston Martin V8 Vantage > Race Manifolds & Catalysts + Sports Exhaust System

Aston Martin V8 Vantage > Race Manifolds & Catalysts + Sports Exhaust System:

Objective:

The OEM exhaust manifold & catalyst fitted to both the 4.3 and 4.7Litre V8 Vantage are horrifically gas-flow restrictive, thus performance zapping, in most part due to being ‘made to a price’.

The handmade QuickSilver sports exhaust package releases the performance compromised by the OEM parts, delivering an improvement of approx. 40BHP…plus an engine that pulls with considerably more strength all the way to the redline. Complementary to other modifications that will increase Horsepower to 475 bhp and torque to 526 nm

> Please see exactly how each V8 Vantage derivative is improved by viewing the performance data attached.

Design:

We have achieved substantial performance gains by paying meticulous attention to design and manufacturing detail.

The standard 4-2-1 Components have been significantly improved by introducing:

* Tuned equal-length primary pipes of 4-1 construction
* A sequential collector cone which enables uncompromised exhaust gas scavenging
* 2mm gauge 316 grade stainless steel pipework
* Laser cut flanges
* All joints and bends fully purge welded (inert gas is used to protect the weld seam until it has cooled to the point that oxidation does not occur, thus prevents cracking, corrosion and deformation)
* 200 cell density Race-catalysts

and to round-off

* A choice of Quicksilver Sports silencers to make the whole package sing as only an Aston should / can.

Testing:

The complete exhaust system has been arduously durability-tested around the world famous Millbrook proving ground circuit under a thermal cycle which would accelerate the onset of any potential error state modes or material failure. The durability concept has been further proven under road mileage accumulation tests for driveability where city driving, motorway cruising or spirited country lane driving have all been tested to make certain no error state driveability modes are present.

Result:

Not only does the system enable flywheel performance, it reduces weight by 18kilos too.

The system is manufactured by QuickSilver
The system is fitted drive-in / drive-out same day by our exclusive Dealer.
The system can be added to other aftermarket parts (eg if car already has sports cats and silencer, the manifolds can be added independently).

Demonstration:

The development car, (shown on the attached video) is being introduced this Sunday August 14th at Lord Pembroke’s ‘SuperCars at Wilton Park’ event.
It will be on the lawn where it can be seen and heard > The development technicians will be on hand to demonstrate & answer questions.

It will also be competing in the ‘Rev Off’ competition where it faces stiff competition from the boys from McLaren with their new MP4, and all the ‘never seen one’ Supercars.

That manifold is a thing of beauty! Too bad it won't show once installed.

You guys are working with Mike right now on a V12 version, right? If so, any estimate of when it'll be done?

Interesting graphs - changed the entire exhaust system for about 8% increase in HP. Changing the entire intake/engine/exhaust system for about 24% increase in HP.

Glad to see somebody finally listened to my suggestions and developed a full set .

From the looks of it, the primaries are 1.75", primary downtube precat = 3.0", 4" cat, with 2.5" post cat piping, narrowing down to 2.25" OEM piping.

It does look to be a decent quality piece and overall in line with what I had stated would work well many months back. 40HP is definitely within the realm of realistic and possible for sure.

This plus custom dyno software ... WOW

If you make a set for the V12 I'll get a set once I get back into a V12V

Any ballpark on pricing for V8 & V12 set?

would other exhaust silencers fit? RPI for instance?

Edit-Ah, I see it says it will fit with other silencers. How does one get from 420 (from 380) to 475 horsepower though? Just via a tune? Seems a bit ambitious!

I tried a "full open" exhaust & cats like in the video - inside/cabin noise was so loud, no cell, no stereo & conversation was shouting if on full throttle ! I actually could not feel a power difference when I went w/ a few more "baffles" in exhaust vs open, using 200 cell cats w both sets. The manifolds alone probably are about 8-10 HP if you extrap' the graph into 3 phases (manifolds, 200 cell cats, exhaust).

This open set up w V8V should win the "Rev Off" w no problem !
