Irish07, Can you possibly scan and attached the June 2011 notice authorizing: Mobil 1 Extended Life 10W-60, Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60 or
Castrol Formula RS 10W-60. My dealer does not seem to know anything about this or forgot.

I'm not allowed to scan and post for public viewing, but what I can tell you is that it was a "After Sales Policy Letter dated June 27th 2011, ref: SPL-30-0448" They have all the same access that I have and should have no problem to find it..give them the ref # and tell them it's a After Sales Policy Letter..they "will" be able to find it..
If I was to post it, I could have my Aston lisence removed..sry for that..

I'm in Montreal and we service the V8V's with 10w60 castrol like in the recommendations...we have a lot colder weather than you guys down in TDot, just we don't run the cars in the winter, they all get stored come the late Oct-early Nov...if you plan on running your car in the winter and you park you car outside, then I would suggest 5w50 for the winter and 10w60 for the summer..if your just driving in the summer months with temps above +10C, 10w60 is the best recommendation of oil grade to run..

Quote: I don't believe Royal Purple nor AMsoil make the correct weight required.

Aston recommends for the V8V: Mobil 1 Extended Life 10W-60, Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60 or
Castrol Formula RS 10W-60

If those are not available, they suggest: Fully Synthetic
5W-50 or 10W-60 oil to specification ACEA A3/B3
Any suggestions on where to find any of these in the States? Even my local AM dealer doesn't stock any.

Your dealer doesn't use the Castrol?? Wow..
Well you can get the 10w60 Castrol oil from your local BMW dealership, it's the recommended oil for the newer M3's...for a V8V you'll need 10 bottles, cases come with 12 bottles..could always buy a case and have 2 spare if needed for top ups till the next service..

Yeah, I find it odd as well. It looks like I'll be making a stop at the local BMW dealership. I hope they don't hold it against me when I show up in an Aston.
