My AM dealer uses Mobil 1 but I can't remember which grade 10W40 or 0W40. I think Mobil 1 is fine although I heard Amsoil is better. For everyday driving, Mobil 1 or Castrol synthetic should be fine. It won't make much difference. I think V8 takes 12 quarts.

I believe that 007Vantage had suggested royal purple a while back which seemed to be excellent.

If I recall correctly, I believe that was for gearbox oil.

You're probably right. We could be thinking of different posts as well.

I don't believe Royal Purple nor AMsoil make the correct weight required.

Aston recommends for the V8V: Mobil 1 Extended Life 10W-60, Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60 or
Castrol Formula RS 10W-60

If those are not available, they suggest: Fully Synthetic
5W-50 or 10W-60 oil to specification ACEA A3/B3

Where do you see that Mobil 1 approved? My owners manual specifically states Castrol Edge Sport or Castrol Formula RS.

If you were to put Motul, I'd suggest Motul Sport 5w-50, but if the recommend's I posted above are available, I'd put the recommended..that's just my opinion..
