Passenger air bag light?

I noticed once that the 'Passenger Air Bag Off' light came on even though I had a passenger sitting.

In most cases the light is off when I have a passenger. Its only happened once so far but I drive 90% of the time by myself so I don't have enough experience to know if its an ongoing issue. Has anybody had any issues with the passenger air bag?

Move the seat forward a bit will take care of it. There's an airbag sensor on the back of the seat. when the seat moves too far back, the pressure would cause the sensor to go off.

Are you talking about the AirBag light in the dash..or the OCS light??

If it's the OCS message and AirBag light, try as stated above..but if you have memory seats on the passenger side of a 2008 year, the backrest should auto move to prevent clide with the rear seat cushion..if it doesn't more than likely the seat position needs to be programmed...if there's no memory and the backrest is not touching the rear lower seat cushion and the OCS light comes on again..it will need to be scanned and most prob reset the weight, which is done by the dealer..

thanks for the comments. The light under the stereo and navigation controls. Directly below the AC *****.

That's the OCS light..comes on when someone is in the seat and is not heavey enough..I can't remember what the weight is, somewhere near 25-45kg sounds right..don't remeber what Aston OCS weight limit is..

Try like what was stated above..light came on because either the passenger is to light or heavery enough but to far slouched, or backrest is touching rear seat lower cushion...if none of these apply, the dealer needs to reset the OCS sensor to zero and they will go from there with the diagnosics

it seems like it probably needs to get reset as the seat was not set far back. It was positioned mid section.
