DB9 Sports pack leak in dampers

AM service found a leak in one of the rear dampers and they are planning to replace both the left and right rear dampers.

Today I came across this PDF service bulletin from another thread which is exactly the issue I am having. I'm having trouble understanding this bulletin.

Bulletin link: http://www.scchosting.com/e30/hd/Ast...per%20leak.pdf

1. Is this saying that they need to install the new bilstein struts? Or just add the pressure relief washer to correct the leak?

2. What about the front two dampers? should they be replaced even if they show no signs of leaking?

I'm not sure if I want to take this to the service manager yet, because I prefer if they replace it completely rather than just add a washer

UPDATE: After reading it over, it seems like they are suggesting to replace any leaking dampers with new struts and install pressure relief washers to all other dampers that show no signs of leaking. Is that right?

Yes you are right. We can only replace what is leaking, and install the washer on struts that are not.

But the bulletin does say not to install bilstein on cars with multimatic. Need to look into this....

What is funny, is I have yet to see this bullentin....nice find.

It is just the maker of the strut, like bilstein.

Is there any way to know whether I have multimatic or bilstein based on my VIN?
