That's exactly the problem...the old tech. I can't think of any other modern engines without variable valve timing, and even entry-level Fords are now getting direct injection. As for all that power going up in tire smoke, other companies use torque-vectoring diffs and trick transmissions with dialed in traction control systems to minimize wheelspin and maximize forward motion.
This post brings up a valid point and one that I've always wondered. I agree on one of the most beautiful cars; but the rivals are also gorgeous and come with the power to boot. Not trying to bash AM- but why an AM over others? (Just trying to understand)
