2007 Vantage pricing help
2007 Vantage pricing help
There is a 2007 Vantage for sale by a non authorized dealer in Northern Cal. 25K miles, new clutch and brakes.
He is asking $64K. What is a fair price to purchase this car?

It comes down to the driver.
I looked at that car this morning, then went home and Googled the VIN (SCFBB03B87GC05586). One disturbing hit was this page:

Edit - I guess you are looking at VIN SCFBB03BX7GC04858 being sold at an undisclosed location in Fremont. I haven't looked at that one yet, but a month ago it was on the East coast with truly outlandish wheels.

In the craigslist listing there is a picture of the trunk with 2 huge speakers. Is that an aftermarket stereo?
i always try to stay away from purchasing vehicles that have been heavily modified..especially to the engine as you don't know if there's been any damaged done to the vehicle.
btw, those wheels look completely ridiculous...

Oh! I remember this car (with the after market subs in the trunk) coming through Manheim a few weeks ago when I was looking to buy. It had a very low rating (?2.8 or something) and was in awful condition (at least one cracked panel, loads of scratches and nicks in the paint).
If I recall correctly it was listed in the CarFax as having been leased and it just screamed "Drug Dealer" to me.
Wholesale it was rated in the low 50's I think. If you are thinking about buying it, make damn sure u get a good inspection (and a way better price than this).

Take Your Time
It sounds like the car your looking at might have some issues, definitely get it checked out and inspected before you consider buying. I would suggest you take your time and search for the right car within your budget.
I began researching the V8V about a year and a half ago, and then joined this forum to learn as much as I could before making a purchase. After a year long, nation wide search on my PC, I found a 2007 V8V at an Aston Martin dealership in Atlanta. My car had just been turned in on a lease, and was in the mid-teens in mileage. It's a Titanium colored coupe, 6-Speed, black leather interior. Prior to buying the car, the dealer arranged for me to speak with the original owner, who gave the car a big thumbs up. He said he didn't have any issues or problems, and kept the car garaged and serviced regularly, as the dealerships service records indicated.
While nothing is ever a 100%, I wanted to be as sure as possible that I was getting a good soild car. I purchased a 2-year extended Aston Martin warranty for a little peace of mind, and because the car had to go through a thorough inspection before it was issued. Again, I would suggest taking your time and finding the right car. You might pay a little more for a good conditioned car, but it well worth it in the long run.

Now that's a car with a history! Jeremy wasn't so pleased with his purchase after that.
