Satin Gold HRE on my Vantage
I'll be the dissenting voice and state that on the gloss black car, if the car had some matching gold striping and other details, it might look kind of good. Ever since I was a kid, I always loved the Lotus Type 72 with JPS color scheme. I don't think a V8V with the same paint scheme and wheels would look too bad.
I like the look of that 458 with the matt gold wheels. I have seen dark 911's with them as well that looked good especially with a tan interior. It just doesn't seem apropos on an Aston. I'm not sure I like black wheels on a black AM either. The brushed and tinted wheels seem to be a more natural, OEM look. The goal that I had when I chose my wheels was to make them look like they were the best OEM wheels. I didn't want them to stick out or ruin the aesthetic of the car since it is the best feature of Astons in general.

Hmmmm, I'm thinking those might look v nice on my Onyx Black V8V ... I'm not crazy about black on black but those have enough silver in them to accent the chrome.
I think I'm with you there. If you were going to do this to a car (qualifying that I wouldn't), I think you'd have to go 'whole hog' and replace all the chrome with matching gold tinted trim. With a matt black car it would certainly be a bold look. Silver and gold don't mix well jewelry-wise nor on a car IMHO.

The 458 looks good with gold wheels, but then Ferrari has a history of using gold wheels (as does Lotus), but not Aston Martin...
If you want a Ferrari or Lotus look, buy one of those. Don't try to fit their aesthetic to an Aston, it doesn't work.

can you PM the price of the p40 conical brushed tinted . thanx
My '81 Turbo Esprit has gold wheels and gold pinstriping but that's OK because it's a Lotus, and that's a heritage racing colour!
Gold is wrong on the AM as there is no collection - gold wheels look good on the old blue Imprezas due to the rallying connection, it's just a question of familiarity. Oddly it looked good on the 430, but Ferrari are that little bit more 'bling' that should be kept away from AM. IMHO.
The brushed grey wheel looked like it would work *very* well.

Gold jumps out too much. If you are looking for that sporty look I'd go with dark bronze.

Brushed w/Tinted Clear finish is also a very nice option.

PM or call me if you ever decide to go ahead with the order.
