Whaaaat? Are you sure you're not referring to the new V12 Vantage Roadster that was announced for production late next year?

The R is for "roadster" (convertible).

I would love a V12V roadster but I don't think it's going to happen. The engine has not been married to a sports shift trans. I think that we would have seen an image. Keep in mind, the Vantage S shares a lot of exterior parts with the V12. Take a look at the links I have here. The wheels don't sit in the arches the way the V12s does and there are no vents which are raised to accommodate the engine. All of these shots are of V8S cars. If AM was testing this car, they would have the wider Corsa tires.

Jay, did you see my post on Aston recon from PistonHeads? The roadster apparently has been confirmed by Dr. Bez himself in speaking to a PistonHeads poster who visited the factory.

I don't see what 2-yr-old pics of the V8S Roadster test mule have to do with a yet-to-be-unveiled V12V Roadster

That's my point. The spy shots were believed to be a V12V roadster. One of the articles even discusses production numbers. This was before the announcement of the VantageS. There have been no spy shots of a v12V roadster.

I saw that and I wonder if the R is for the racing variant like the DBR9. I can't find anything from AM that they mean roadster. It would be awesome to have a V12v roadster. I already have some colors in mind.

Jay, I don't know how you can say that. The very first post in the link that Racer_X included states that Dr. Bez confirmed there will be a V12V Roadster in 2012.

I saw the thread in pistonheads. I hope it's true. All of the articles depict spy shots of a V8S. Keep in mind this is a blog nothing official from AM. I would love to see something from the company and may be a picture. I don't want to get my hopes up because trust me, this is the first coupe I've owned in 5 cars. I would love a vert.

The news apparently came directly from Dr. Bez a few days ago. The articles/spy shots were cited in the thread by different posters who basically were saying "I told you so." That the old articles/spy shots were wrong does not necessarily mean that this new info is wrong.
