Interesting switch as Ive been debating a Gallardo vs. A 360/430.
I'm curious why AM owners choose Lambo over Ferrari? I daresay that the F-car is more of a "driver's" car vs the lambo being more about power and presence.
Part of my desire is that I have an 08 AM N400 and it just doesn't have enough power for me. I'm hoping an Fcar or Gallardo would fill that void.

Thanks!
I'll post some pictures once the car arrives.

It is a manual with silver/black interior with superleggera wheels. I don't like the crazy colors I was looking for a white manual but it was hard to find.

A friend of mine is selling a red 06 430 convertible with a manual in case you are interested.

Congrats on the Lambo, enjoy it and hopefully see you back around these parts in a couple of years.

I am staying put with my V8 until the V12 gets better aligned with my check-book.

I hope that means that your checkbook balance gets larger, not that the V12 gets really cheap!

I would like to hear comments from these new Lambo owners comparing their experiences with both cars. It's always interesting hearing from real owners that have had the car a while.

Good Bye to my Vantage (twice for me)

Yes..Ed Bolian..he is a Lamborghini "sommelier". I have bought several cars from him. he is without question one of the best in the biz and very honest.

The Lamborghini is a somewhat faster than the V8V 4.7 but not killer diff and feels heavier. The Aston feels more nimble and the convertible top does not rattle like the Gallardo spider. The Aston is more luxurious...smaller and has a much better turning radius. The leather smells better in the Aston. The Lambo handles heavy curves better as it is not a GT car. The experience is this: A Lamborghini is like going to Milan and buying a handmade suit from Mr. Armani himself. Its sleek and Italian....less body fat the better. An Aston Martin Vantage or any Aston Martin is like going to Henry Poole on Savile Row in London and having a suit made like one of the Windsors. All depends which mood you are in. Like the author of this thread he wanted to try a Lamborghini like I did.

Good question. I think it has to do with reliability. Aston Martins are hearty cars and F-cars have the reputation of "melting your credit card" in the service departments. I also think the traditional animosity between Aston Martin and Ferrari may have "a little" to do with it. Lamborghini and Aston Martin get along fine under one dealership roof. Ferrari the company does not like to share new car franchises with Aston Martin and you will hardly ever see them sold new with Lamborghini.

I was also surprised that so many have replaced an Aston with a Lambo, as opposed to a Ferrari. Although I love Lambos, Ferrari, like Aston, has a long racing heritage that provides a certain pedigree that the Lambo marque does not have. Lambo instead seems to play (and play it well) the role of the brash upstart who thumbs his nose at the establishment.

Good point. Personally I bought a Lamborghini over a Ferrari because my perception is that Lambos are less prone to breaking. Its the reason Ferrucio Lamborghini started the company...he was tired of fixing issues with his personal Ferrari. As an former Aston Martin driver, I'm not used to blower motors not working, valve guides going bad and needing new motor mounts at 3000 miles. So if I want an exotic Italian car with about the same reliability as my Aston, I go with Lamborghini. I like F-cars, I've just read and heard of too many stories.

Interesting. I knew that F-cars were expensive to maintain/fix, but I didn't know that they were that unreliable. Do you think this is still true for the newer generation cars?

Regardless, are you joining us at AMP tomorrow? Would love to see the new ride.

Actually, I'm getting an alignment done for the Gallardo @ 10:30. So I doubt they will be done in time? As for F-cars being problematic....I've heard from service writers that several F-cars tallyed up $100,000+ in warranty work the first 3 years. Needless to say they were traded in right before the warranty expired. Go to some of the F-car forums and read the comments. They love their F-cars for sure but they are willing to put up with some issues. Again, I love Ferrari cars!! I would love to get a 360 as a dd but you are not as safe with expenses as you are with an Aston or a Lambo. An F430 with 2000 miles and 3 years old needing $7000 in motor mounts?? I mean come on! Google "best exotic daily drivers" on the internet and see what the article said about the 360 vs the Gallardo or the V8V. Talk to Ed and his personal experience when he had the exotic rental company.
