Aston Martin Virage
Yup, I've looked at it...a retrogression, design wise, from the DB9/DBS
Ridiculous looking light units - far too long/angry bird eyebrows/LED strips
Unattractive flares at the front valance
'Blingy' chrome hood vents...an AM isn't supposed to be an Escalade
Virage....a model that serves no purpose and should never have seen daylight (like the Rapide).

To each their own as always.
I'll take my blingy angry bird (can't say I have ever seen an angry bird though) with stratus white feathers please.
I am a middle aged guy that likes things in simpler fashion. I don't see "bling" in/on the Virage at all. The light units are a tad longish but not so much as to hate the car.
Yes, the car is placed in a strange way in the AM offerings but what the hey, it's not the end of the world.
I don't beleive so...I spoke with an AM rep and was told that the Virage is an addtion to the line-up made to fill an open gap in price points between the current DB9 and DBS. Nothing will replace the DB line of cars.
I agree with you. The Virage looks like a more refined Aston Martin to catch-up (or match) with modern times (2012+). The long, raised lights remind of the Italia 458.
I am in love with the Virage. I'm guessing that with some determined negotiating the dealers would want to move the cars as long as they make a decent profit. Most I have been interested in are listed around 220-227. B&O is important for myself.
It may sound silly but it is what it is. "Other" cars that have my interest will not carry my golf clubs much less two bags. I know I will want to take whatever I decide on to the course and maybe dinner afterwards.
Unique, fast enough, stunning looks and it will carry my sticks and or luggage...
Pee pee poor MPG, massive hit when you drive off the lot, steep entry price to play...
There are a few 200ish mile DBS' out there that just are not selling and they are discounted down to Virage MSRP territory. Hmmm..
On looks alone I find the Virage to be maybe the best looking AM ever. Tweaks inside and out just move it a smidge closer to "modern" design, if you will.
But, I mean..please. Just look at it. Just like women, you know the instant you lay eyes on her.

^^^ Don't agree, I think the best lines belong to the DB series - DB9, it's just perfect. curvy enough, and just brilliant from every view, looks modern even though they first started in '05, it's prittier than anything on the road today even still. The DBS is a little more aggresive I like the rear end of the DBS the best, still like the front and sides of the DB9 better, simple and just spot on...not too much, doesn't look like it's trying to much, just flows through the air with a stunning shape that will be timeless.
Virage looks like it's trying slightly too hard, meshing aspects of the DB cars with the vantage...I still think it's quite nice but not over a DB car.

Although I think the DB series does look better (I own a Vantage S), I like the handling characteristics of the Vantage far more than the DB series. The Virage is nice - if it were my money and I were looking for a touring car I would be looking for a slightly used DBS over a new Virage.
You should tell your friend to lose the badge he's added to the grill, or at least make it off center. IMO makes the grill look like that of a cheap American car.

The DB9 was special order only a few months back, I assume its production has now ended. There will of course be many cars that have been made so we'll still see new ones for the next 2 years, but the Virage effectively replaced it, and raised the price £20k!
That means one less manual transmission option in the world, Virage is TT2 auto only

If you've a manual DB9, hang on to it!
Sure do... 6 speed manual with Sport Package DB9 coupe
... the rare color combo and the fact that mine was one of the very few AM press cars built for specifically the LA Autoshow makes for a rather interesting story behind the car as well.

Marcos is right. The DB9 is history. Try ordering one. I just spoke to the dealer today and it is now official that the Virage replaces the DB9. We also have a newly skinned DBS on the way. More power as well. Nothing new for the Vantage yet. I would prefer the V12V or a used DBS over a Virage.

Test drove the Vantage, Virage and DBS today. I actually prefer the Virage over the two but would be willing to wait for the new DBS.
