Aston Martin Virage
It won't be available until later this year. Rumor is they will debut it at Pebble Beach where the first one was shown. I am sure the new one will be a great car but, you will probably save over $100K on a 10 or 11 compared to the new car. If you liked the Virage the best hit them up for a deal. You should be able to get an 11 Virage for quite a bit off sticker.

Yes, I was able to get a significant amount off the Virage MSRP combined with a great lease rate (extremely low interest) - It's Aston Martin funded via Premier.
I'm thinking of leasing the Virage now and trading it in for the new DBS when it arrives.
Personally, I think the Virage looks better in person than in photos.
I agree with you on the looks of the Virage. I actually like the rear end, headlights and the interior better on the Virage than the DBS. BTY, in case you were not aware, your 11 Virage has the Garmin Nav system standard. The rest of the line had to wait for the 12 my. The Garmin is far better than the old unit. Which dealer did you get it from? Enjoy your car. Ken
I had never seen the Virage before starting to shop for a Vantage a few months ago. I think the car is absolutely stunning and I would have driven a Virage Volante if it were not wildly out of my price range.
It can be ordered with what I think are some of the most gorgeous wheels I have ever seen: http://www.losgatosluxcars.com/2012-...-CA/vd/8154629
Picture does not do them justice. I'm very tempted to try to see what they would look like on the Vantage (assuming I can reach the $$$s I am looking for on the deal I am currently negotiating).

How do you like your Italia 458?

I have asked my dealer if it's possible to swap out the Virage's rear diffuser with the DBS - they said it is, they would just need to order the parts.
Just looked at the Virage closely not too long ago...it is basically a DB9 with a few changes, in my opinion for the worse. The headlights and front lip are worse, headlights look too sharp and squunty, the sharp downturn edges of the front lip are aggressive ques that don't go with the rounded and flowing shape of the car. The side rockers are trying to hard to be different, and the rear is identical to DB9 less the little lower lip which is ok, but still not that significant of a difference, like the DBS rear diffuser is of course. I was looking at DB9, lease deals on Virage, and used DBS, I ultimately settled on buying a DB9 as it offered what I think is not only the best value in theline up but also captures the essense of what this chassis and car is best at, it's lines and tones are perfect, and it's not trying too hard like a Virage, nor does it claim to be a sports car outright like a DBS which is primarily the same car, with an engine tune and a few carbon bits, tweaks, and trinkets.
Virage is to me in no mans land, it doesn't offer the value and kind of true essence of the DB Series and the lines and proportions which are bang on in the DB9, nor does it give you the extra sports cues and the add ons of a DBS...it then is a ship afloat in the ocean without a port or harbor to come and dock.

The Italia is great but I still love my Astons. Each to his own, but I would take the Virage over a DB9 if the price is right. I like what they have done with the rear end and the interior as well as the brakes etc. I think you can buy an 11 Virage for DB9 money right now which makes it a no brainer in my book.
Hi everyone,
Just picked up the Aston Martin Virage - love it. Thank you to everyone for their opinion & advice. Question: is there a "break-in" period for Astons? In your experience, is the exhaust note louder after it reaches a certain number of miles?

Congratulations! These are wonderful cars. Looking forward to hearing how you like it.
I'm also curious as to how the DB9/Virage lineup turns out. I wonder if they'll continue to move the V8 further up in price if the DB9 goes away. If the Virage is not selling as well as they'd like, does anyone know whether it's losing more sales to the DB9 or to the DBS? Both? Neither?

Congrats on the Virage!!!
There is no break-in period for Aston's. The engines are Hot Tested at the factory.
They would like you to be easy the first 1k, but nothing that says hey we cannot go out and play!

I like the Virage. Very subtle car - the transmission shifts pretty darn smooth. Car is pretty fast. Exhaust is nice but I don't think it's loud as the DBS. Pulled out Fuse 15 when I picked it up from the dealer.
Here are some pictures after recent detail. I am going to post new photos next week with SLR and after I get the Carbon Fiber DBS diffuser installed.
