Emissions testing
#2
I live in California and and I have not had to have my car smog tested yet, but I have heard that a Vantage V8 with 200 cell cats and mild aftermarket exhaust will pass.
One caveat that I was given was that if the system is really loud the tester may look underneath and then fail you for a visual inspection that clearly show that you are not running the stock cats. The idea is to not roll up with an earth shaker that will get them looking underneath in the first place.
This is all second hand info I'm passing along. I’ll have the 200 cell cats in my car before my next smog check. I'll be able to tell you with certainly in about a year.
