Intro - 09 V8V Roadster

Hi. I just purchased a 2009 V8V roadster from our Atlanta dealer and take delivery this week! It's replacing an 07 C4S Cab that I sold a couple months ago. Details on the car...

2009 V8V Readster with 9500 miles
Meteorite Silver over All Bitter Chocolate interior
Manual 6 Speed
Premium Audio and Bluetooth
Red Calipers
Bright Grill
HID headlamps
Memory and Heated Seats
Cruise
Powerfold Mirrors
Front Park Sensors
Garage Door Opener and Dim
Sat Radio
Sports Pack
Sat Nav

Will post pics once back in town - celebrating bday at a beach resort in Playa Del Carmen this week!

One question - lots of threads how to update the older gps systems, anyone know what's needed to update maps on the HD based system in 2009?

Hey Jason, your neighbor here. Congrats again on the car, welcome to the Aston forum, and happy birthday! As for your question, no idea as to updating the maps of the newer systems.

Here's a link to the Volvo DVD set that you need to up date your maps from Navtec. Haven't bought/installed these myself but it's the newer version of the maps for the 'Volvo-sourced' nav on the older Vantages.

Post some pics when you get a chance!

Thanks! From other posts I can't tell if these will update the hard drive system in the 09 or are only for the earlier DVD based system ...

Yes they work to upgrade the HDD-based system. If you are a member on the AMOC forums there is a great thread on the Vovlo DVDs where one of the posters (GlynV8) did an amazing set of sequential photos with accompanying instructions for going through the upgrade process.

Here's the link but I think you have to register (free) on AMOC.org to view. It's on page 19 of that thread.

After some research, looks like that is the wrong link for HDD systems. Here is the one I found and hopefully works!

No worries! It was the link on AMOC that cleared it up for me. Thx!

Tried picking up the Volvo DVD from the dealership yesterday.....they apparently don't stock them as they claim to only sell about 1 a year. Anyhow, buying from Volvo is more expensive....their list price is $285 as compared to $199 if you buy directly from the Navteq website.

Thx! Ed should be delivering the car tomorrow and I get back from Playa late Saturday. Nice tag photo --- Ed said you liked stripes!

Btw - plan to take the car up to Lanier Saturday to do a shakedown cruise with the Sunsation. Let me know if you guys are out and want a ride!

Yeah, I'm contemplating adding some flair, although not as much as that in my avatar pic!

Lanier sounds great. Let me check with the other half.
