insurance for v8v

So I just got quoted $4400/yr for insurance through AAA...is that normal for this car? Seems very high to me?

WOW, that's ridiculously high. I pay no more than $185 a month through StateFarm for full coverage an no deductible. I do have a perfect driving record and multiple cars insured though.

It depends heavily on where you live. I have cars insured in Vegas and Orlando and pay double for an insured car in Florida versus Nevada.

Very high. If you use it for pleasure only, try Hagerty's collectors' insurance -- they also insure exotics. Agreed value, reasonable rates.

3136 with Progressive. And that's with having a second car on the policy. I searched around a bit when I added the AM to my policy, but I found that not many offer coverage for this car. Maybe I'll check out some alternatives based on this thread.

I just did the quick quote online with Hagerty and they are coming in at 2464. I am not 100% sure all the coverages are the same (going to double check now). If they remain less $ and have a good record in CA, I may well switch to them.

Thanks to Speedraser for the tip.

WOW! Just checked Liberty mutual and they are less expensive by far. $2111 with a lower comp deductible too AND I can ensure both cars with them. Seems like a winner.

State Farm: multicar/home discount-safe driver (over 50), under 7500 miles/yr, full coverage; $1050/yr. in CA
Mileage restriction can save you $$$, especially if you have other daily drivers...

Declared value also is a really big deal. I changed lowered mine by 10k and it dropped the rate by $400/yr.

State farm multiple car plus home and umbrella. I have 5 vehicles on my policy ... VW 337, mercedes sl55 Amg, Porsche gt2, Aston Martin db9, and 18 ft race trailer (my racecar is not on this auto policy). I am paying approximately $350/month for everything altogether. I think I'm at 600 something per 6 month period for my db9. I'll have to double check my policy to get the exact number but I'm fairly sure it was bw 1200 - 1300 annually for the db9. I'm 36, single, and have a clean record, and I live in the city.
