V8V in the snow?

First off, I am a little nuts. I live in Park City, Utah where we get between 300-500 inches of snow, and I like to drive 2-wheel drive low clearance vehicles. My daily drivers have included a 2002 BMW 325CiC, a 2007 Mini Cooper S, and currently I drive a 2006 Porsche 911 S Cab. In short, these three cars have been fine in deep snow as long as I put the right tires on them (Blizzaks FWIW). I have never gotten stuck, and I enjoy the thrill of driving in tough conditions.

I have always wanted an Aston Martin, and really want a V8 Vantage (4.3). What do you guys do in the winter? Any recommendation for a winter wheel set? Heck, does ANYONE drive their Aston in the winter?

Thanks,
-Blake

Disclaimer- I am a Porsche guy and have a GT3 for the track and a 911 Speedster for the concourse events. I just want a car that I can appreciate every day...

I live up in Canada, get a lot more snow then your area, have a few clients that drive there DB9's and V8V's in the winter, again like you said..the right winter tires are required. If you do a search I've posted some info on this for someone requesting a good winter tire size on a V8V

I am from Switzerland and we have lots of snow here in the winter months. I use my V8V all year long; in fact I used it when several times when I went skiing. With winter tyres not an issue at all. I have the Pirelli Winter 270 Sottozero II AM9 (with AM identifier) mounted. They are available in 235/40 R19 and 275/35 R19.

I had a thread going on this exactly, last week. Feedback seems to be Pirelli Sottozero Serie II or Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. It was lengthy maybe worth scrolling down to check out.

I'm up in Toronto, Canada, we don't get a ton of snow however I'll be driving this year round. Going 225 and 255 (front and rear) are also tested options and opens up cheaper tire sizing. So far 19" stock sized Pirelli SZ SIIs will run me $2100 not on sale. Cheaper for 225 and 255 sizes (1600 to 1800)

I found your thread after posting this one. Lots of great information there - thanks!

And regarding tires, I've run both the Pirelli's (two winter's ago) and the Conti's (last winter) in 18's on my 911 Cab (235/40-18F and 265/40-18R). Both were amazing tires on ice and in shallow snow, but struggle mightily in unplowed snow above 4 inches. I'm looking into Blizzaks (WS60 from memory) that have a more aggressive shoulder. From what I have learned from our SUV, that is the key for good turn in in deep snow. I am also trying to go as narrow as I can with the tires.

That is great to hear! My next question will be where you attach the skis... I really want to put on a ski rack as well if I choose to get an V8V!

Cool - thanks. What part of Canada if I may ask? The only parts of North America that get more snow than the mountains of Utah are Mount Rainer in Washington, and several parts of British Columbia. The most snow in Quebec province measures 187 in/yr at Cap Sieve.
