RSC Supercharger for 4.3L - any user feedback?
I know RSC released their own supercharger kit several months ago and I have been keeping an eye out for any comments or feedback from real world users, yet have seen nothing. Has anyone actually installed the kit? I would love to hear if it is a good option for increasing the performance of a 2007 Vantage.
I can only share the results of my supercharged Vantage. It is no long made by ESX as I understand it. The kit was strong and used a piggyback ECU and 2 throttle body injectors. I have had it now about 3 years and 20K miles. I have spend a ton of money and time in order to to access the AM PCM, identify all the maps and scalars and reprogram it to work completely from the AM PCU. Dealing with Ford's Drive-by-wire torque based electronic throttle control proved to be the most difficult. I used the map layout of a mustang to help identify maps, and lots of trial and error to verify the correct scalars. In some ways the AM is almost a clone of the Ford EEC6 and in some ways it is quite alien, using bespoke AM programming. With perseverance I have finally got the car running well. I have a modified intake track and bigger fuel injectors. The original kit was good but I never liked the idea of a throttle body injector and the piggyback was not too sophisticated and drove poorly when cold. Now I control everything, even when to allow the exhaust valves to open. The PCM has been flashed over 100 times in order to gather this info. I've attached the base open loop fuel table just for S&G. You can see why the AM runs pig rich up top
