First track day in the V8V last weekend

Took the 07 V8V out to Atlanta Motorsports Park with Chin Motorsports last weekend. I has safety wired the exhaust valves up to restrict how far they open due to sound restrictions (98db) but it still hit 101db on track. I was very surprised at how well the car performed, and am looking forward to the next one.

I did blow the right rear strut if anyone has some take-off parts...

I'm surprised you blew out a strut, they look really robust on an Aston.

When I was out with the Aston Club at Summit Point a few weeks ago, I was amazed at the number of roadsters running the event with the tops up (it was chilly out, mid-40's). I mentioned to a few of them that if they are running hard on the track and go over a curbing, their rollbars may deploy and if they do they will shatter the rear window and tear the top, and I advised they run with the tops down - and they all looked at me like I had two heads. Not a one put the top down after my little speech to them....lol. Bet that rear glass and new top is pricey!

Rich, I have 4 struts out of our 2008 roadster - I can't separate them but I'll give you a killer deal if you want them. Although if you're going to be tracking regularly we should really get you into some coilovers!!!

Awesome! Great to see these wonderful cars being used on track and owners enjoying driving exercising them like they should be!

Looks like you had fun!

I didn't track my car too much last year, but in 2011 I did over a dozen track days and was also amazed how well the 'stock car' handled on the track.

Like the helmet mounted camera perspective!

Saw someone at the Chump race with one mounted that way. Next time I am going to flip the mount so it's a little lower. AMP is a very tight, technical track, the car took to it very well. Unlike my track car that has 1/2 the power (and less weight), this car required finesse with the throttle to stay balanced. My ABS and stability control does not work, but I could feet throttle intervention a few times. I had to remember to keep it out of second, and under 6,000 rpm, as it would go over the AMP sound limit.
