Where are all the V12V buyers?
I agree with Scott. Exotic cars, high-end audio and boats....none of them make financial sense...they are expensive toys...you can spend less buying used and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it...I only buy new because I enjoy the process on configuring how I like and l don't like the idea of anyone else using it before me...both views are acceptable. There is a cost to buying new...that I agree. BTW...my audio system cost more than my V12V and unfortunately depreciates faster. But it produces much better music than the B&O system...which I think has been on twice.
My suggestion to the OP is keep it....it's a great car

I buy preowned when I can, but the V12V was not one of those moments. It is a car that I plan to keep and so I wanted one spec'd out the way I like, plus I didn't want to ever wonder how it was maintained before it came to me. Half of my cars are new, the other half were not. I consider the V12V to be in the category of wanting to buy it new.

I'll probably have a V12V (or a McLaren) by next Spring and I'm struggling with buying new versus used. I typically buy "like new" used where they are only a year old or so for the same reasons Sunir mentioned. However with the V12V the used market price isn't low enough to be an obvious choice. With that said, I am always hunting for that killer deal (hint hint)

x2, hence the big smiley face. You know we weren't for real.
No 130k, how about 131k?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Lol, I know you guys were joking, but I have received some emails and pm's that were not jokes. That along with the scammers working on an oilrig I receive everyday just warranted a vent.
Not to take anything away from your car copelandcf I think it is very nice but a reason why people might not be biting is because some dealers are discounting msrp even on brand new V12Vs. For example here is one on autotader for 150K brand new.

Also Rob J if you want to offer me 131K for my V12 DBS you got yourself a deal hahaha

I will never buy an exotic new again.
Bought my 2 yo AM V8 40K off list and sold for 2 yrs later for 10K less, but after tax credit it came to 2K less. Bought my '06 Ferrari with 5K miles in pristine condition for 90K off MSRP. Probably will sell in 2 years for 20K loss, but with tax credit it only comes to 10K loss.
If you want the newest toy than you're going to pay top dollar. Look at McLarens. There are 2012 models with 500 miles that are going for 60K off MSRP.
To the OP, good luck with the sale.

If I had the extra cash, and could turn my 08' Vantage over quickly enough, I'd snap your V12 up in a heart beat. As it is, I'm back working at a startup in the very early no pay/self funded phase at the moment. Quite a bit different from back in 1997-1998 when folks could not unload truck loads of money fast enough. I'm sure it will pay off in the long run, at which time I will be looking for a V12 Vantage, or perhaps a F12 or 599 GTO if things go really, really well.
DBS, if you look it says MSRP $150K, there are no V12V with a MSRP of $150K, so I think they typoed the cylinders. Or maybe they typoed the MSRP but the other 20 cars are $165K-190K. Regardless, the carbon black edition is another $13K or so option so I think I'm still in the right ballpark. Cheers!

The dealer's website also has that V12V for 150k so I don't think it's a typo. Also, there are other brand new 2012's that are very close to your number. I won't link them because I don't want to deter your sales but the market for these cars is all over the map. I don't know what is driving the price variance. With so few in the USA I would think the price would be stable. The other thing is you see them listed at varying prices but how much are they actually selling for? I don't know this either.
I can see both sides of the lightly used vs new debate. Personally I like to save a buck, so have traditionally gone for used cars.
But there comes a time when you just don't want to compromise on your required specification and are lucky enough to be able to afford exactly what YOU want - and to hell with depreciation! Nice feeling eh Scott? You lucky chap - as is Inder - where are those photos?
So both sides are right and I'm sure the used V12 will sell (best of luck with that), these cars are getting a good following from enthusiasts and prices are generally holding up better than the rest of the range.

Copelandcf,
You have it priced about right for the market but I would not say priced for a quick sale. Based on the research I did in buying mine. I think the typical Maroni sticker is between $195-$202k depending on options . Your carbon edition starts higher than the norm due to the carbon black package...but many non-carbon additions get close quickly especially if they have the B&O audio package...and a heavily optioned Carbon editon can get up to $213K. Mine(a non carbon package) for example stickered at $200.5k. Many 2012 models, if they have sat at dealers over the summer, are going for between $10-20k off sticker for a new unregistered car with full warranty, not advertised at all dealers but that is what you can get. Your car is also a 2011, which while very similar to the 2012, has the old Nav system which some may be avoiding if possible and a shorter warranty period. A two-year extended warranty is around $6k...so you could say that a potential buyer could be thinking that the spread between your car as priced and a new 2012 model is more like $14k ($40-20-6). In fact, there is a 2012 carbon edition in CO new for $189($27k off sticker) and has been priced there for about 2 months which if you take the sticker difference of 13k into account and the extended warranty cost of 6k...you get a difference between your 160k and this new car of only $10k. So again, I think you are priced fairly...but not priced at a bargain given the market. Good luck on the sale...if you have time to wait it will sell...and they are great cars.
