New Aston Martin Owner
New Aston Martin Owner
I just wanted to say hello as a "new" Aston Martin owner. After years of owning several Porsches and Ferrari's, I made the move and purchased a 2007 Aston Martin Vantage.
I have owned the car for two days and can honestly say I think I have found a home. All of the cars I have owned were great but none have gotten me as excited as the Aston. The look, sound and feel of the car is simply addictive.
In any case, I wanted to say hello and thank everyone for all the great advice and help the forum has provided in helping me make my decision.

If you like the way it sounds now then go into the trunk, right-side, pull off the little panel covering the fuses and remove fuse 22. That removal keeps the exhaust "full blast" all the time. We can later discuss a remote switch you can install later for "Normal or Loud".
OP
I ran for a year without fuse 22 and had no problems at all. I recently had the dealer plug the vacuum tubes that control the flaps (making them permanently open) & replace the fuse because we have emissions testing here.
Apparently a missing fuse 22 stores a minor code that *might* trip an emission test issue. Others have been tested without issue, so probably depends where you are.
Now I just control volume with my right foot

Thank you for the compliments and once I get the car through inspection, I think I am going to give the #22 a try.

Removing Fuse 22 does throw a minor code that the Aston Martin tech can read, but it doesn't throw any other codes. I installed a 12V relay in place of the fuse, so now with the remote control I can switch between "Normal" and "Loud".
Edit: Oops, the previous link to Amazon I posted was for a 6 amp switch. This one is for the 15amp switch that I installed and it has worked well for nearly 2-years. (Don't be concerned that Fuse 22 is a 20-amp as it is rated for at least 2-times then normal current draw.)
