Aston Martin DB7, DB9, DBS, Vantage V8, Vanquish, and Classic models

Why does everyone park directly next to the Aston when you park in BFE?

That said, the 458 was a welcome treat of sorts after so many mini vans, SUVs and trucks.

Thanks Electron, it's the wmart on 620! That is the spot other end from garden center lol. Never anyone there.....usually.
i never said parking away made one a snob, my remark was aimed at others responses

I have two cars with very obvious dents in doors from others who opened right into them. If there are bunches of open spots, just leave room between my vehicle and yours. I always try to leave a respectful space between my vehicle and any others in the same position.
X2 for sure

I bought a used Mazda RX7 when I graduated college. A woman with a station wagon full of unruly kids pulled up next to me in a shopping center. While I was still in the car, one of the kids literally kicked the back door open and put a hatchet wound in my door which was made out of alloy. I got out of the car and the woman pulled away with the back door of her car still open. From then on I park my cars away no matter what I am driving, even when I have a work vehicle. That doesn't make me snobby, just experienced. It's not a bright thing to suggest that caring for your vehicle makes you snobby. In fact, it sounds like something that someone who has keyed or spit on a car out of jealousy would say. If you meant it another way, I'm not getting it.

I think in this case the F458 parked next to the Vantage because he knew the owner was a car guy and would respect his car. If I'm in a crowded lot and I have to park next to someone I will find the nearest exotic and park next to it because I am hedging that the owner, like me, respects cars and will respect mine as I will his.

I think some folks park next to you in BFE because they're interested in looking at the car. Unfortunately, I think many others do it to **** you off. It's an urge even I sometimes need to suppress when I see a DB (the person, not the car) park across 2 or 3 spots.

Perhaps I should of added that I never park across more than one spot. I'm always in one spot, although I will park far over on the outside spot as shown in the picture above. If I were across 2, let alone 3 spots I would understand the person like yourself parking next to it.

I get that, but I never, never never park across a couple of spots - even when the parking lot is empty. I guess it is just part of the risk of owning a nice car, but that does not mean we have to like it.

I think you're focusing on the wrong person. You pretty much have to be a clueless do*che-bag to spot a nice car purposely parked in BFE with no cars anywhere in its vicinity and then choose to park right next to it when there are plenty of other choices. The chances for dinging someone's door are zero if chose to park someone else. Even if not intentional, sometimes accidents happen when the wind grabs your door and forces it open. Why run the risk of it smashing into the car next to you (no matter what kind of car it is) if it could have been avoided?
