Tried to search but how do you tighten up the door so that when it swans open it stays in position. It seems mine is just a tad loose where the hinge will just allow the door to close from gravity.
Hoping this is a simple fix

 

I've not taken one apart to look at it, but it appears to be held open by a gas strut, much like the hood and rear deck lid. I suppose you will need to replace that gas strut.

 

I was thinking the same, although it'd be great if they were adjustable. They seem to lose a bit of their resistance after a while. The driver's side door on my '07 V8V tended to self-close. It was an issue I was going to have the dealer address, until I saw the V12V in the showroom.

 

I just completed the 4th year service on my 2009 Vantage where I had to pull off the front wheel liners to replace the Air Filter. When I had the wheel liners off I look around and investigated everything I could look at. The door are in fact operated with a standard looking gas strut and would be simple to replace with the wheel liners removed. You may be able to match the struts up, length and load and source them local and avoid what may be a overpriced cost through Aston. If you replace them please pass on the length and resistance load.

 

You need to swap out the gas strut, I just did both on my 2007 V8V, it's really cheap, only like 40.00 a strut plus maybe an hour labor or, easy to do yourself.

Once you get a new set you'll wonder how you lived for so long without them.

 

Oh, and that 40.00 price is for an OEM Aston strut too

 

An inexpensive part . . . for an Aston?! Somebody better call Gaydon so they can correct this error.

Same gas cap problem here!

 

I believe it's just a matter of it being adjusted.

There was even a recall on Vantage Roadsters a while back
