Sounds like you've found a good solution. Of course, there's another (even better IMO) solution -- a clutch pedal and a gear lever

I love a simple solution! Congrats.

On a side note, by solution went through a DB9 with an automatic and an M5 that had the SMG as well, so yours is less costly even if you replace those pads constantly. Thus, you win in my book.

I tried the one click on the handbrake to park my car on garage drive on lift. It worked and did make it easier.
