New to forums, buying an AM V8V and have a couple questions...
Looks around cautiously. "Is he gone now? Is it safe to come back in?" Funny how my Spidey-sense was tingling from this guy's first verbose post/rant. I knew something was amiss. Thank goodness it was short-lived. Now we can go back to our regularly-scheduled programming. Steps out to go drive his entry-level sports car.

Wow what a weekend you guys had.
There is a lot of class on the 6speedforums so I was disappointed to see aggressive postings.
I would like to add a tad and clarify my posting.
"Plebian"? I had to go to the dictionary on that one.
I like a friendly joust.
Drcollie(in jest)
I only have a two tone Sub.
No worries mate.
I will openly admit i was one of those guys that abused the clutch out of my own ignorance of what it really was. I just did not understand what kind of a driveline it had. Oh well live and learn. I am not really young at 53 and still learning many things, hopefully to be polite is one of them.
Tim glad you getting your car I'd love to have any AM.

Holy cow, I missed one heck of a conversation.
I don't understand why that guy was so bitter on the V8V clutch issue. Yes, we all know the cars have the occasional gremlin here and there but sounding like a bitter, spoiled brat about it wasn't helping anyone.
Going to now take my 31 year old self in my entry level Aston Martin to lunch.
Anything to get away from my cube for a bit, guess I'm just happy I got a job once I got out of the Air Force.

Now this whole silly idea that the V8V is entry anything is like having to settle for the 10th most beautiful woman in the world and fuss over it.
I know, where was that one hiding!!!??? I can't believe I missed it either!

Missed it!
Yes, I missed it too but you boys all may have not processed the reply that stated he was a naval aviator. Those in the know realize that the only time a naval aviator is wrong is when an airline captain says so. It was a bit over the top especially since someone considering his first AM made the inquiry. Would have been better to show that we're all car guys at heart.
I've been lucky enough to get into an AM via the real entry level late in my game. I bought it because I wanted to experience ownership, not for any bragging rights or extensions. From the tone, some wouldn't even be caught looking at it, but that's okay, it serves the purpose, I haven't seen another on the road and it's still an Aston Martin. Now that I'm a bit wiser and more educated, my choice for the next entry level AM will be a V8V as I just like the car and prefer the V8 engine.
Enjoy your vehicles, whatever they may be.

Well here's another newbie looking at a V8V. This thread is much more interesting than those found for my last car.
Sifting through the carnage I still found quite a bit of useful knowledge thanks to the dedicated ones that managed to stay on topic. I very much appreciate it!
The Vantage I'm looking at is in Vegas so a road trip will be in order to check it out in the coming weeks. I'm very excited!
