Took the plunge today
Mine did too when it arrived, it appears, for my car, to be temperature dependent. I noticed one day and the next it was gone. I have read it can be remedied with different pads, i.e., if it persists. Have fun. It'll turn every little jaunt into an occasion to relish and remember!
I was just curious about the Viper part as I race one. Anyway I had an 09, currently have 11 V8 roadster and 12 V12, and you just need to warm up the brakes and then stop firmly several times and the noise will disappear until the next time they are cold. If someone says something I always say "racing brakes". BTY I ran a quicksilver super sport on mine and loved the sound. Great car. If you have any other questions about it just let us know.
Congrats Viperlaw and welcome to the Aston Forum on the 6! Looks like you have entered the AML ownership experience with a nice choice, a lovely Vantage v8. Please share some pics when you can, we look forward to your membership to our Aston community here
Clutch
The car has a bit more than 16k on the original clutch so im being very careful with it because I know that could go soon. Is there any way to check to see how much clutch life is left? It last had a service about 1.5k ago and they signed off on it as being fine.
Also, there are some contradictory statements from the manual and what others have been saying about how to take care of the clutch. Im am a bit used to the old Vanquish whereby under acceleration you want to lift off prior to shifting and also engage neutral when at a stop. In the book I believe it says to keep it in gear and dont lift off. Is this correct?
Additionally, I think I read somewhere that when the clutch is overheating it will disable crawl mode and also comfort mode. I figured comfort mode would be easier on the clutch. Am I wrong? Is the general consensus to leave it always in sport? So far my technique from standstill is to keep it in gear and let crawl engage the clutch with little, if any, throttle input from me until its fully engaged. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the help.

My advice would be to drive it exactly as though you were driving a manual. So when you're coming to a stop, shift down to second and then pull both paddles towards you to select neutral. When the light changes, select 1st and off you go.
Hard on-throttle shifting doesn't wear the clutch all that much compared to slow speed messing about. So pull away decisively but let the clutch fully engage 1st before you accelerate hard. Don't use comfort mode EVER - it is achieving the softer feeling shifts by slipping the clutch more than in sport mode. Don't use the 'creep' function at all - it is slipping the clutch the entire time you use it.
Lastly, do regular clutch learns. Start the car with the AC off, foot on the brake, wait 5-6 seconds until you hear the 'click'. Do that every time you start the car, just make it a habit if you can.
Thanks. Ill do that. Will the clutch give me any warning when its on its way out? Will it judder and slip like a regular manual or with the software prevent that from happening?
Would love to hear any commentary.
