I agree with Sunir, RacerX and 502. Magma is stunning -- why hide it? Matt finishes, IMO, make the car look like they're still in primer -- I just don't think they look good at all. To each his own, but Aston paint is especially beautiful, deep and glossy -- why make it look like the car needs paint?

My V8V was Toro Red and my V12V is Magma Red, no way I would hide either. When clean, these colors are stunning!

Of course, you can always experiment and a wrap is a fairly safe (albeit, expensive!) way to try out some new colors.

If you want to play around why not matte the hood or the roof, try some striping, maybe do a wrap of a nice compliment color to magma somewhere else on the car...be creative you've done an excellent job so far with your car... wrapping the whole thing takes away from what you can do to be unique and creative. You have one of the best looking Astons here, celebrate it don't hide it

Sorry for my late replies to your PM...think you've seen my thread regarding wrapping my 430 Spider satin pearl white:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ive-wraps.html

All I can say is I absolutely love it. The color really accentuates the lines of the car. I like it way better than the played out matte colors.
White is stunning on any car. Do it.

satin pearl white if only the pearl is very obvious and has a slight shine / gloss in it , i've seen some so-called "matt pearl white" which doesnt really show the pearl effect and it gets dirty so easily...just imagine driving a car wrapped with normal white paper, not good!

I agree. Putting a wrap on your car would be like bolting a WRX wing on a Duesenburg. Your car is beautiful, an outstanding color, and to me the matt finish kills the soul of an Aston.

I imagine some would prefer my DB9 was wrapped in something to hide the unusual sage green, but prior to this wrap thread, your car seemed to be universally lauded as pretty much perfect as-is.

What's the matter Mikey? You don't like seeing razor blades being run across an Aston's paint?

Just talked to a wrap guy today. He told me the pearl white is the most popular color right now. With white being the new black, lots of wrapped cars are going to be white. IMO, this is a reason not to do it.

Basically wash as normal. Don't need to wax it tho.
Life span of these wraps can be 3 to several years.

You see different opinions on wrapping a car or not. I agree that the Aston paint is very special. I would not wrap my DBS, but I love the wrap on my 430.
It is simply a change in color. So if you're bored of the color why not? You do have to find a reputable shop though.
To each his own.

Maybe this will give you some ideas. I wouldn't go a full matte, it takes away the depth of the car. A semi-metallic with some gloss accents are nice. My wrap has a tinge of warmness, so it doesn't have that charcoal/blue-ish tint.

Just out of curiosity, what is the approximate cost to wrap a car like an Aston? Also, how difficult is it to remove the wrap later on?
