Vantage Coupe - better exhaust sound - zero cost
Vantage Coupe - better exhaust sound - zero cost
Who doesn't like the rumble when you get on the gas? So here's a tip I picked up from reading on Car and Driver's web site on the V12 Vantage review:
"V-12 Vantage’s chief engineer, Paul Barritt, suggests removing the parcel-shelf cover that separates the cargo compartment from the cabin. From behind the wheel, the effect is a welcome increase in exhaust noise—Porsche would call it a “Sound package” and then charge thousands for removing the cover."
So I did this yesterday...and it works! Note that you have to have the windows up to get any effect out of it on the coupes, but its pretty effective. Give it a shot, you'll like it.

Been running that way since I picked up my Vantage S. And with fuse 15 out, the sound is glorious even in my little V8.
As an aside, it also came in handy since I brought back the front undertray from a fellow 6speeders car back after our little outing this past Sunday. With his permission I will post some pics on that thread.
