preowned aston without warranty
I bought a used 2009 Vantage almost three years ago. The warrantee ran out last year, I have no repairs other than annual service and replacing brake pads with Portafield pads ( for less brake dust) since owning the car. I have put 10k miles on it.
Keep a close watch on the Rear Brake Pads, they seem to wear faster than the front and at 23,000 miles you may be close to replacing them.
Just adding my 2cents..
I have an 06 Vantage I bought with 13k miles. I got it pretty cheap almost 3 years ago now because it had an accident (First owner backed into a tree). I had all service paperwork including detailed accident history.
I also own a 05 mini cooper which I acquired with the same amount of miles in 2008.
No warranties on either
So far total costs that would have been covered by warranty
Mini: at least 9000
Aston: 0.
I think the motor for my GPS is about to go but that is it in 3 years of owning the car. I have AM of New England do the service every year, and they keep an eye on things. I am very glad I never went with a extended warranty - but thats just me. I think if the car you are looking at as a good pedigree as mine did, you should be OK. I know ive saved at least 15k on warranties for it so far, so even if something expensive breaks, I should still be ahead of the game.
