Is the AM alarm remote programable?

I would to get an extra remote.

If I buy a used one from ebaY can I have my AM dealer re-program it?

Aerome is infamous around these parts
A dealer can do it for you. It's a secret process, so if you see them do it, they have to kill you (then charge your estate for the service). Seriously though, the method was posted here once by a knowledgeable chap, so if you list the year, he may pop up and list or repeat it.

Please note: Unless you have the codes that come with remote when new (on a separate piece of paper) your dealer can't program them to your car. Also, be aware that the remote itself isn't "re-programmed". This is a common misconception. Instead, it is your car that is taught to recognize and accept the remote's codes.

get hold of aston martin bits in the uk, i got a god price from them (third of what AM in Cape Town wanted) it will come with the code wihout that its no good so beware of that thing on ebay unless its in its packaging!
The recognition process takes about 30 mins and has to be done by an aston agent who has the correct SW.

what about the key... cutting is piece of cake its a 4 step key but again it must come with the codes or aston cannot help? its the key that locks in or out the imobilser

The other poster is correct the car will be told to reconise the remote and if yiou have lost the other remote a person armed with it will still gain entry to your car, if you have its dealer code they can program the car to reject that one,

Rotary rocket, I just finished exchanging email with aston bits. They only sell usa remotes in pairs (there are different remote frequencies for different parts of the world). I need one , as my car was missing the second. I'm probably ordering a pair, and was just going to try to sell one. Pm me if you want the other. Not looking to make $$
