Porsche 911 Story; 9th Edition

The Porsche 911 Story 9th edition is out and on sale at Amazon. It's over 500 pages of over size (coffee table display) high quality paper and great technical references. More pictures, charts and details than you can count. It includes the new 991 and the 991 GT3. It truly is a must read; especially in this 50th anniversary year.

I'm almost half way through it and the technical detail is amazing, especially in the engine and other technical areas. I've owned 11 911s since 1967 and I'm learning a lot about the technical details and evolution that gives me an appreciation for what we have now (and take for granted). The only shortfall is that because it is written in England, most of the data is metric and has to be converted; not a big problem. It's a must have history for a technically oriented owner.

If you could only get one book for the coffee table is this the one? How does it compare to "Origin of the Species"?

Try Amazon UK and their other sellers choice for immediate delivery. I ordered one yesterday Aug 9 and is showing Aug 19 delivery.

That is if your buy direct from Amazon UK. If you choose one of the other vendors they offer on the right hand side, you will find plenty others that are willing to sell for 33.82 pound (for example and not affiliated "UKPaperbackshop"). Their freight to US is 6.94 pound. Hence, when all is added up, it is 40.76 pound for delivery within one week. It is only around US$12 more expensive. For $12, why wait.
