Just picked up Vantage, having issue with lock

I just picked up the keys to my 07 Vantage this morning, got it home, and having trouble locking it. It makes the sound of a lock noise, but the door is still unlocked. I tried manually putting the key into the car and that locked it, but it wouldn't release the key when it was in the locked state. Other key fob acted the same way. Whenever I pressed the unlock button, works fine, lights up on the sides. After 3-4 times of unlock then lock, it'll finally lock the car. Is the battery on my key fob going dead, or something inside the door? The dealer was just fixing the window (it wasn't rolling down), so maybe they hooked up something wrong?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated
Thanks
James

Early Vantage's had issues with the door latches, door modules, and interior door handle cables.

If one latch faults and the micro switch inside the latch shows open when it's actually closed, the other latch will not lock..this can either be the latch at fault or the interior handle cable is linked which causes the door latch to not lock

If the door module goes bad, which they do often..both front door modules have to be replaced for Aston revised the module and replaced it with a completely different unit.

If u were just in the shop for the windows, find out what they did..did they replace anything or just hard reset the door modules..if they opened up the door panel, the interior handle cable could be linked now..not saying it is.. just saying it's one if the possible's

They had to replace the motor for the windshield (this was done prior to my owning it), but at the time, the locks did not appear to have any issues. I've been testing it out, and I got it solid working, as long as I hit the unlock button first, then immediately hit lock, it'll lock it fine. I guess that'll work until I get her serviced (she had been sitting at dealership for a while, and surpassed her annual needs ).

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into it

I have the same anomaly and it started after my battery died and I had to jumpstart.

I find that it works if I only open the drivers door, drive, get out and lock...

But if at anytime, I have a passenger or i open the trunk, the lock button will not lock on the first try, I have to keep hitting it a few times until I see the side markers light up. Its pretty annoying..let me know what you find out.

I also have 'auto lock' enabled in the system so as soon as the car moves the doors lock.

My auto lock is enabled too I didn't have a passenger or open the trunk and it was still happening to me. The unlock -> lock works consistently though (about 6 times now it's worked spot on), so that'll get me by until I can get it looked at. Hopefully this module isn't that expensive >.>
