Cost of Ownership: 2006/07 V8 Vantage
I am pretty set on the Aston. I will go for a 4.3L. may not be as powerful as I want, but for my purposes its not that important. Like I mentioned, I really get my thrills from the Ducati. Even that I dont use to its limit.
Is there any particular colour that is good for resale? I wont be going for the silver, just too high kms with not enough service history.
My preference is black or white with a tan interior.
Are there any buying tips on the forum?

One thing I tell people who are looking at exotics that are priced much cheaper than they were new is to always remember that the service department is servicing a 120k car, not the 60k car you bought. The parts are for a 120k car, not 60k, and therefore will be much more expensive than a new 60k car.
Ferrari are notorious for this where you can get a 355 for cheap but the belt service is still over 10k!

When you buy cars like this the maintenance history is just as important as the condition and carfax. If its due [or overdue] and the service is 15K to get caught up then the car priced 10K more with service current is the better buy.
It would be irresponsible to buy anything of this pedigree if you would have life altering decisions to make based on being able to afford maintenance. After a divorce and some other unforeseen circumstances this is why I am now in a Jag haha. -1st world problems for sure.
From a financial point of view, I am pretty well established and comfortable. No life decisions will suffer as a result.
I have decided to go with a car with less kms, but higher priced and an 07.

Nice! Post pics when you get it and good luck in your hunt!
I think I found her
Canadian Car - Important for vehicle history
10,000 kms
Manual
Service History Complete documented history Exclusively from Aston Martin Toronto (service books stamped and service print out from New)
Premium Audio - After riding bikes for years, having a sound system is a huge luxury

As far as financing is concerned, rather than an auto loan which would cost about 5.99% I was just going to get a secured line of credit at prime plus 0.5.
Trying to be sensible in making an impractical decision

that's a good looking car, Slayer. looks like the same color combo i have (mercury silver with phantom grey, but my dash trim is different). good luck!
btw, the Premium Audio is one of the "must have" options that most people want. big difference between it and the standard system.

Thanks, the record is meticulous. I will have a look at it in person today, potentially make an offer for 70k plus taxes and registration.
I cant go over 80k all in. Which is fair for a 2007 based on my research. Unless anyone has an objection.
Thanks for all the help. The forum has certainly been insightful. I didnt get the best discussion from the jaguar forums
. Prefer the calibre of aston martin owners
Dont worry pictures, review etc will be posted. I will do my best to give back.

Dealership:
Left work early to visit the dealership. Car was already outside for me to drive. The dealer gave me a tour of the car, walked me through every upgrade and feature. Pointed out the key details and features. He really knew astons and very meticulous
Drive:
It has been years since I have driven a stick. Im used to bikes, but its been at least 3-4 years since I drove a manual last. I must say the car is very easy to drive. I am not used to the gear positions but even starting in 3rd the car was very forgiving.
I felt comfortable and confident after a few minutes behind the wheel. Very easy to drive and relaxing.
Great visibility inside the cabin.
So we are on the same page, this car isnt one id drive hard or fast. Its more the experience, the ownership and the status of actually having an aston. Its the first car I ever purchased.
+1 to this. If for some reason they can't get it you can try calling Aston North America and give them the VIN to get the options. This has worked for other exotics I've purchased and I assume it works for Aston as well.
I can do that. I was going through a sensory overload forgot to check if it has cruise control. I dont see it in this picture. It was described as having it.

Scariest part is owning something so nice and so immaculate. A lot of pressure to maintain. Wear and tear will drive me nuts.

All the servicing was done there as well. Thanks.
