Guys, sorry for being a bit of a drama queen, but just wanted to get some of your feedback.

I looked over the service history at the dealership and just requested an email copy to see if there was a replacement to the leaking seal. PrecisionPorsch scared me a little.

Here is the summarized maintenance history for the vehicle.

2008 - 1st Service 1,500km service , Power steering pump - renew,Added labor to correct cause of oil leak ,gasket cylinder head cover renew (left and right), FSA Secondary air injection relay replacement
2008- FSA 163 - Fuel Filler Cap Service Kit
2009- 1 year service, carry out service action recall fsa 156
2010 - 2 year service, secondary air injection relay replacement, replaced engine belt
2011 - secondary air injection relay replacement
2011- 3 year service
2012- 4 year service

I don't know about the seals on the head gaskets that seems unusual but I had an 07 and there was a bug in the fuel cap and and belt mechanism both of which of my car were replaced under warranty's which were early glitches that have been taken care of

These I think would be expected on a very limited run brand-new design like the vantage and found early on in the production schedule.

There are two known problems based on my reading, clutch and leaks, does this history cover the latter ?

2008 - 1st Service 1,500km service , Power steering pump - renew,Added labor to correct cause of oil leak ,gasket cylinder head

it appears the leak was a one time factor when new covered by warranty and no sign of leaks since. I've had an 84, an 85, and a 89 V8 Aston, as well as an 07 and now an 09 Vantage, all with V-8's and never a drop of oil leaked I'm aware of. I have a buddy with an 06 DB9 that had head gaskets that seeped, but I heard that also is very rare (from Lake Forest AM who's service director told me a leak in an Aston engine is not common).

I just took delivery of the vehicle. Same as the ad I posted earlier, with 10,000kms.

I had the vehicle appraised, and I paid slightly less than the appraised value. I did notice that there was the scratch on the interior door pull handle, which is common. Along with the dashboard leather cluster not glued properly.

Anyways, I am still in a dream state. To have my dream car under the age of 30, just reassures me that I am on the right track.

Beautiful! This exterior color and the black onyx I ended up purchasing are my two favorite colors. In my limited (1 week) experience driving my '07, the only thing better than admiring the exterior is driving it -- the sound and feel in the drivers seat is extraordinary!

Nice! Consider yourself a lucky young man to have one of those as a reward for your hard work (or having a nice trust fund)

Now for some fun. Go in the back of the fuse box in the trunk on the right side, pull off the cover and remove Fuse 22. That will open your baffles on your exhaust and keep them open all the time so you get the good rumblies even at idle and low rpm's. Next, take the parcel shelf out of the car and stick it in a closet. Now you've just created an echo chamber for the exhaust and for nothing spent at all, you will get the most marvelous exhaust tones when driving...

No trust fund my friend. Just blood and sweat.

Thanks, I will give that a shot. I love the way it rumbles past 4,000 rpm
