Insurance costs for Vantage?

I asked someone who has a 2006 V8 Vantage and he said he paid $475/six months. Now I'm mid-30s and I have a clean driving record. I asked my agent how much it would cost to insure a 2014 V8 Vantage S that costs around $165k and he quoted me $4700/six months. Is that about right?

I want to custom order one but that seems too high! I'm currently paying about $180/month for a 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera. Seems more practical

Change insurance. I'm younger than you and have only had a US license for 4 years (much longer in France but no reciprocity). With all that and living in NYC I was paying $2400 for 6 months on my V8 Vantage, it was still a lot of money but nothing close to what your insurance is asking. Now on my C4S cab I pay roughly $1800 for 6 months and the MSRP of the Porsche is higher than the one of my former Vantage.

That seems way too high. I think my Vantage was around $3k/6 months... was 24 years old, clean driving record, live in LA.

I'm 26 now and my DB9 is just a bit more.

Like frank recommended, read the other thread for some good info. Also, if you, or sometimes your parents are ex military, USAA is often the best. Highly competitive rates and always at or near the top with customer service ratings

I recently look around for 2009 DB9 insurance.
Average was 1500/year with State Farm, liberty, MetLife
I am 41 with good record.
Bought MetLife via AAA at $1493/year, only car on policy.
My 2006 BMW 750li, 2001acura mdx is on AAA south policy with my home insurance policy, they would not cover AM and I can't change car plus auto otherwise I loose home insurance. Home insurance has sink hole coverage which I can get any more in my area in FL.

That's nice don't feel bad that they don't even know what V8v is?
Just be happy you are one of the few fortunate to own it.
