A simple upgrade to Aston floor mats is to add these iron-on patches. I was able to purchase them on Ebay for around $6. Once I placed the patch on the carpet, I used another piece of fabric to cover the area. Set your Iron to high and press hard, running back over the patch several time. I was careful to use the tip of the iron, only placing it on the patch. After several months, they are holding well.
