who actually use their disk based pre 09 Navigation?

I have a 08 roadster with nav.

I used nav once and was so frustrated, Ive never used it again!

Also could be that I have the 08 disks in there but still. Google maps on the iphone can not be beat. Does anyone actually use their pre-09 disk based navigation?

I have a related question. I believe the nav system is an old garmin based system. Can it be updated with a newer garmin system? Has anyone attempted this?

I don't even use the one in my 2010. It stinks, so does the one in my Bimmer and MBZ. I google maps on my iphone. Voice directions come through on bluetooth audio, and it attach it to a vent with an Airframe.

I agree with 4pipes. Never use mine in my 2010 vantage. I do, however like the nav in my 2011 BMW M3. What year and model bimmer?

I have a 2011 335D. I love it, it's the second one I've had.

The NAV in my 07 was awful - one time I was in Dubuque IA and routed to Minneapolis - it actually had me going south on I-35! The 09 I have now, the Nav is at best OK. I have an Audi A3 and installed a Kenwood that uses Garmin - a very nice system.

I use mine and like it. I've got updated disks and it always gets me there. Only useful if you set the destination though.

Haven't even bothered to try to turn it on in my new to me 07 as the maps would be so horribly out of date as to be useless.

I have an 09 and never use mine. Here in LA you _need_ Waze. Even Google Maps won't cut it.

The 2010 M3 I used to have had a pretty decent nav with traffic (only on the freeways) that would be ok, specially on road trips. Before then, my SLK had a 2010 nav system that was also usable though it didn't have traffic.

I am thoroughly disappointed in Aston's 15-year old tech. Unacceptable in a car in this price range.

The Nav System in the earlier Astons, mine is an '08 Vantage V8, used the Volvo system. So if you want to update the maps, order the Navteq for Volvo.

The good news about our horrible navigation is that getting lost in one of these cars is still pretty amazing..

I think the AM nav works a treat. But then again, I mostly use maps, so what do I know.

This is what I did. I find the nav to be useful. Not perfect, but functional

Updated my 07 to current Navteq and it is so so. Google maps, especially with their update, is so much better there is no comparison.

I used mine when I was living in Georgia. It wasn't great, but it got the job done and I rarely had any problems with it. Since moving to Virginia I haven't used it. Honestly, I just haven't bothered to get this region's disc from Volvo haha
