So.. started looking into letting go of my 2011v8s partly because its time and partially because of timing… ( GT, AMG )
was interested in the V12 and there are so many changes coming was not sure what to do??? and then a friend said that at the 12 price range i should also consider the SLS, 458 or the Ferrari Ca since it is my DD. I even considered a DBS… I personally really like the CA but what do i know.
Any thought from personal experience with any of those cars would be greatly appreciated.

I'll play.
I've been down this road many times. After a few months you get the itch for a new car. The first question you have to ask is what purpose car are you looking for? Do you want a driver's car, GT, rear seats, DD?
For the $200k mark it will be difficult to get a well sorted 458. The California is well, not as much of a driver's car vs the 458 or 430. You could even consider a Scud for something raw and holding value.
The SLS has good technical performance. But the two negatives is that Mercedes handling is very insulated and the SLS is still depreciating.
You could even consider a Gallardo if you want straight line speed and something flashy that garners a lot of attention.
I've had a DBS and it is not really a driver's car. It is more of a GT cruiser...loose handling compared to a Vantage.
I just picked up a V12VS (review in other thread in this section) and in one word, it is phenomenal.
Gluck in your search, part of the fun is choosing and finding the next car.

what am looking for.. a luxury, refined stunning DD that feel and behave like a sports car when asked. A true gentleman's sports car!! Don't need or care for the 2+2 but if it has all of the above and there are two extra seats i will not say no because of that. I love my V8S but would like more power, better acceleration, much smoother trani (you know what i am saying). everything else i love. I feel like i am cheating just thinking about other companies, LOL
One more thing- I don't like flashy hence the lamb is not me. thats onwe of the attractions for the vantage to begin with.. what do u think about the CA vs the Vantage? The more i am writing the more i realize i want more of the same.hence the V12S might be the answer has it seem to have everything i love and everything i want to have. just want to make sure before i open the checkbook.

I agree with everything Plastique said. I also get the itch for a new car about 2x per year
. The 200k price range has a LOT of great options. I suggest drive them all and decide.
The Ferrari California is a car I'd avoid. It's a great car but is frowned upon. The California T might be different but I personally would avoid it. The 599 is awesome. It has the Enzo V12 which is cool to talk about. The fit and finish is also nice but unless it's the GTO, I'm not a fan of the styling. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Scud. It's probably too raw for a DD but it's the best car I've owned to date without question.

I had a California for a while and had a lot of great experiences with it. It's definitely a car you can drive every day.
In your situation, I'd heavily recommend checking out the MP4-12C (especially if you're considering a 458 or DBS). When I was in the market a few months ago, the only deciding factor for the DB9 over a 12C was the sound -- I've yet to find much that sounds better than an Aston V12.
458s in the lower 200k's are going to be very hit and miss.

I agree on the MP4-12C. It's a great car that could be daily driven. It has a very comfortable ride and with 1 button is track stiff. My only concern would be what is going to happen to the prices as the 650S rolls into the used market.
Thank you very much.. funny enough i read a few of your posts on the F forum so I appreciate your input. So u concluded that the V12s had the best of all worlds comp to the others.. I remember you also had the Bentley, right?

The 3 other cars mentioned are great as well. 599, Cali, Mac. The 599 is a big car with a lot of power and torque, but I felt it was a bit heavy for nimble handling. I've had my eye on the 650s of which this car and the 12C have phenomenal technical performance, dare I say better than the 458 at a cheaper price. Problem is the branding and marketing and the depreciation I can't stomach.
Astons are an addictive brand, seductive and alluring. I sold my V8V after 3 mos. then yearned for another and got the DBS, which was too GT for me. Finally Aston got it right with the V12V's.
I hear what you are saying....you love the Vantage - it's sex appeal, exclusivity, agile handling.........BUT you are thirsting for more power.
I was the same way in looking for a DD.
Test drive a V12V or V12VS. You won't be disappointed.

Not sure if you're only interested in buying new but, if not, a used V12V is a heck of a bargain. You can pick up a like-new one for around $150k. Also a good option if you like manual transmissions.
Not attached to a new one… Was considering the V12. didn't think it was so much better then my S.
Drive them all then drive the 12c. I will be very surprised if it does not answer your craving the best....... The capabilities of it have me completely marveled - I put the powertrain in Track mode, the suspension in Normal and it's like a state of the art rocket ship together with the comfort and ride ride an armchair.
