RSC ECU & Cats California legal?

I'm doing some car shopping and a car I'm looking at has RSC ECU & Cats. I'm trying to figure out if those are CA legal - sounds like it needs some sort of label or certification mark on the cats. The RSC site doesn't mention anything about this.

Thanks for any info!

Any modification you make to stock must carry a CARB (California air resources board) number to be legal and pass smog....our wonderful state now requires smog shops to do a physical inspection for anything not stock....I would contact RSC and see if those items have a CARB number

Thanks for the info. Anyone happen to know if the RSC Cats have these CARB numbers? (I've also seen some reference to something called an EO number?)

...and I sent an email to RSC but if I don't hear back from them or anyone else here I'll try the good old fashioned telephone tomorrow.

Hehe..RSC cats and CARB don't go in the same sentence...CARB catalysts are OEM replacements..anything high flowing for emissions(which increase emissions) would not carry a CARB certified label.

So answer: No RSC or even Velocity would carry a CARB certified label for there catalysts presently availible..would fail inspection for visual and tail pipe emissions in Cali, you also cannot change a catalyst in Cali unless you have reason and have applied for auth from there board..if I remember right, even changing a catalyst to another CARB approved unit would fail your inspection unless you got authorization from the board
