That's why you buy a Gallardo over an AM

I'd love to see the honest conversation with this dude picking up a (gold digger) girl with his Gallardo:

Girl: "So what made you want to get a Lambo?"
Guy: "Well, I had an Aston Martin, but I wasn't getting enough attention. I saw a video on YouTube where the guy didn't even have to say anything!"
Girl: "That's cool, I guess. So you must be like, super rich."
Guy: "Fo sho"
Girl: "So is this the Aventador?"
Guy: "Nah, this is the Gallardo. It's about half the price -- and this one's used, so I got an even better deal."
Girl: "...oh..., so how much did this one cost?"
Guy: "Well, you know those new Mercedes, BMW's and Audi's you see all over the place?"

Girl: "Can you let me out at the light?"

No offense to you Gallardo owners, of course

I think the OP is much more suited to be a gallardo owner rather than an aston owner. If the motivation for buying a car is picking up street walkers, than an aston is clearly a wrong choice... go with a Van bud

beyond your dubious motivations for driving sports cars, how thick do you have to be to come on to an Aston forum with that topic and THAT title for your thread?

Indeed.... as the forum ages, so it regresses into infancy.

Hey guys just joined the forum, I've been studying this forum for a very long time. Just wanted to thank you all for this mountain of information. Thanks to what I learned here, I pulled the trigger on a V8 Vantage about a month ago and have not looked back since.

It's funny that I'm seeing this post because just the other day I was parked by a Lamborghini Gallardo. What struck me immediately were it's lines, so jagged and aircraft-like. There is no doubt in my mind that the Gallardo is a wonderful machine, but the looks have always been trying too hard to me. The car has angles and things popping out here and there, all of which are helpful I'm sure. How many are necessary?

Next to it the Aston stands as a testament to simplicity. It looks like the whole thing was cut out of one huge block. Nothing looks added on. It looks like someone purposefully chiseled each and every curve, because someone did. It doesn't need to grab your attention, because the car already has it. In the month I have owned this car, I have had more positive reactions than anything I've ever driven. Everywhere I go people love this car. I want them to, because I love it too.

I'm in my early 20s, and I would never use a car to get a girl. Aston Martin has a tremendous heritage, and they build fantastic cars. As does Lamborghini. Those are the only reasons to buy either car. If you are buying it to impress anyone, I'd suggest a Bugatti. Because if your personality is so uninteresting that you rely on flaunting your material wealth, might as well actually look rich. Not like you rented something for $1000.

Lambo has been very successful in designing extroverted, stealth fighter-inspired cars. Yes, they are very different from the curvy Aston design language, but this difference is why I like both so much. Each has it's own merits and audience.

I would love to have an Aventador...but not because anyone else would like it.

But I'd have a new Vanquish ahead of that.

If all your looking for is to get Boom Boom and nothing serious then who cares if they are gold diggers, one night stand and kick em to the curve. The Lambo is seriously an attention grabber because it looks more exotic, but over my aston..., IDK, i love my vantage.

You can get "Boom Boom and nothing serious" with the same quality women for a lot cheaper than a Lambo with $50 and a stroll down the Red Light District. I don't really think having to wrap it up like it's an Eskimo is really worth it, though.

That was really funny! I think someone else mentioned that , they never take the AM on the first date or talk about it. Later, its a nice surprise when you pull up in such an amazing machine. sure, the Gallardo is amazing too, but its different.
Almost everyday I drive the AM, ill get stopped by someone saying how beautiful or amazing /cool the car is. kids, their dads, women....etc. all seem to love the AM . I cant tell you how many thumbs up I get driving it too the store. especially, by other car nuts in their fancy cars.

I had 2 yellow gallardos (don't ask me why). Lots of haters and lovers. But with my Vantage, there are no haters!

If I got a Gallardo I would feel like i got the cheap Lambo, you know the small one. All the hype would probably wear off quickly, then be a pain. I get Ricers and Stangs all the time trying to impress me in my E63 couldn't imagine how that would be in a Lambo.

I am sure in a AM, no matter what kind, its a more appreciative type of inquiry by lookers. Maybe I will start finding out soon .

Getting a girl with a car? Kinda who wouldn't, but absolutely would say goodbye, well maybe not, the next morning. Always at her place, never at yours Don't need stalkers. They know they are cheap, thats why they give it up so quick. Thats the only thing beside usually looks they have to offer. A quality woman would never flaunt it, yes they would drop them too quickly, but would say "oh my goodness, I have never done this before"

Just my .02
