Velocity ECU

Well guys I got around to putting the Velocity Ecu to the test on the dyno. Here are the results. From baseline at 310hp/264tq, the 7700rpm Velocity ECU tune we netted 338hp/269tq. A gain of 28hp and 5tq. You can definitely feel the engine more, and it is exceptionally better at all rpm. More lively throughout the rev range and feels very strong with no flat spots like the stock tune had. The baseline was done back in Feb when it was 65F and no humidity, and this session it was 90F and high humidity. I am sure this had some impact on the results, as I expected some more hp, but I am pleased with the way the car feels now! I plan on doing at least high flow cats in the future, but I am concentrating on building a new home so I will wait til some more funds come available to do the cats. Here are the dyno graphs.

For Maximum acceleration you want to stay as high on the HP curve as you can when shifting. The improved 7,700RPM limit helps a lot with that, especially when shifting from 1st to 2nd (a drop in RPM to 4,770)and also when shifting from 2nd to 3rd (a drop in RPM to 5,650).

Good results, great job doing before & after. For optimal results it is always better to redo your baseline the same day to ensure you factor out all the weather variation. Even weather correction factors are not that accurate so it's important to redo the baseline.

Either way though those are good results. What's the redline at?

I completely agree 007 on doing the baseline the day of the comparison. Unfortunately we were pressed for time and I had installed the V1 tune the day before to ensure I could get the procedure done properly. I planned on driving to the shop with the V1 tune and reinstall the factory tune to do a baseline. HOwever, I was informed that we had exactly 1.5 hours to do all of the runs including cooldowns between. I chose to just do the tunes for brevity sake, and it took us almost 2 hours, thereby making the next dyno session late. Sorry for the lack on consistancy with the weather conditions, but I had little choice if I wanted to get final results of the tunes and cars response to them.

All good, no worries, just saying for future reference.
