Buying my first AM car
#22
Hello to all -
I have been on this site gathering all the information I can possibly absorb about the V8V.
Seems we all have been bitten by the bug with respects to the design, sound, overall performance, and mostly for me the uniqueness of this fine automobile. I am days away, a week maximum, from purchasing my first AM. To be honest this will also be first super high end car (former beemer and lexus owner). I will not be using Vantage for day to day commuting, mainly on weekends and nights out with the Mrs.
The reason I am reaching out today to everyone is to get some feedback and opinions whether to get the roadster or coupe (luckily the dealer in my area has 2011's in both versions).
We live in the northeast – notorious for late spring potholes and cold fall/spring mornings.
For all of the roadster owners, are there any issues with rattling and/or wind noise? When I test drove the roadster it was an incredible day and I couldn’t imagine not hearing the exhaust. Also how bad are the blind spots with the top up? (More for the late fall/spring driving)
As a side note – I was leaning towards the sport shift, but have decided to go with the 6speed manual

kdavos,
In my opinion, got to go with the roadster especially since it's your weekend fun car. The times when the weather is nice, there is no better feeling. When it's too cold, just put on a jacket and a hat. The V8 creates a lot of heat to warm you up (get heated seats). There can be some rattles from time to time and blind spot takes some use to, but all non issues as long as the top is down.
My wife initially wasn't sure if she would like a convertible, but really enjoys it soon after.

Gorgeous car! Hope to see you out at Cars & Coffee sometime soon The big one is at Katie's coffee shop in Great Falls (wicked early Saturday morning), smaller one at Starbucks by Kohl's in Fair Lakes on Sunday morning.

Manual is a definite, Coupe or Roadster is pure choice, I really wanted a roadster originally, but the lines of the coupe are so much more pleasing to my eye than the roadster with the top up. But again purely my personal choice.

Definitely - I usually go to C&C in Fair Lakes on Sunday morning. I haven't been there lately since the birth of my baby 3 months ago but definitely planning on heading out there soon. Hope to see you there as well as I don't recall seeing many Aston Martin's there.
