Those using Autel 702/802...

Been very happy with my Autel 802 wih regards to it removing the SRS airbag lights (and ODB codes). However, because you have to use The Volvo settings it's not truly designed for Aston Martin, for that reason every time I get the SRS code removed it leaves the rear defrost button blinking. Occasionally it will even set off the TPMS and DTC warning as well.

Usually I can get them removed by following the instructions but this time I couldn't and now all 3 are on. Has anyone found a better car to use other than the Volvos? I have tried every one, some better than the others, so far I have tried C70, S60, XC90 as the best options, occasionally S80 as well too.

For the engine, the Ford GT / Mustang 5.4L setting seems to be perfect with zero issues, but on the body side of things it's just not very good of a match. It gets the job done of removing SRS but leaves gremlins behind sometimes.

Any suggestions?

If you are having to remove the SRS light that often you might actually have something going on with your airbags. I do have the same code reader as you and I haven't experienced any of those problems with my DB9. I had the SRS light come on after I removed the passenger seat to clean under there and it reset it fine with no issues.

I have not gone under the passenger seat yet to fiddle with the plug. I think I need to so it will stop. Every time I pin passenger seat against the rear bulkhead it throws the code.

It's the passenger side on Left hand drive USA spec cars right?

If it's being triggered because you moved the seat too far back, moving the seat forward should clear it within one engine restart.

Normal operation, the defrost light blinking is because it is in direct communication with the vehicle. (communication indicator) If its not blinking your not connected. After you clear codes, wait a tick and cycle key off for 5-seconds. Ignition back on then disconnect scan tool. Believe it or not you may just be disconnecting too quickly.
