Check Engine/Emission Service Require Light
as I had suspected..... it was too cold driving up to thunderhill in the early morning.... hmmm flaw in the system if it cant keep things warm enough to not trigger a code. I guess I need to use my old race car to the track, trick, of putting a towel in the air inlet air duct at the nose...... just have to remember to pull it out when it gets warm outside!
Code: P0128 thermostat seeing undertemperature. (or something like that)
Were you up at Thunderhill by chance? Was just there this past Monday for the first time (T-hill west and first time with the car). Would love to chat offline and maybe get some instruction/ride-along to learn more about these cars!
Hope the light goes away! Mine came on while driving back to the bay area after a full day at Thunderhill.

yes, I was instructing out there. Thunderhill -West! I took my students for a few rides... great for me too, as I hadn't been there and have limited track time in the Aston. a lot of fun.
Feel free to ping me....more than happy to chat!
ill see if I can get the crummy video I took with one of the original Go-pros , on to youtube.
Thermostat failure seems fairly common. See pistonheads faq for the Jag alternative part # to save a few $.

I just ordered the Jag thermostat. Mine is probably the original. It will intermittently stay at about the 1/3 point on the gauge, but most of the time it's at the 1/2 point. Might as well change it out as part of my winter refresh!
Thermostat is interchangeable, however,
Thermostat hardware of Jag V8 is the same with one exception. Their spring is significantly stronger, so sayeth my tech who works on both brands.
The only time you will notice how strong the spring is, if you are a do it yourselfer, is when you are building up the assembly in the engine compartment, while leaning over fender, reaching waaay down.
Bring your big boy fingers. It is doable, but it certainly doesn't fall into place.
