Supercars on State Street
Supercars on State Street
I mentioned it in another thread but figured (after the fact
) I'd post it here, too. Today I participated in an event called Supercars on State Street (SCoSS). It's a charity event held in Harrisburg, PA, that raises money for breast cancer research. A friend of mine also hosts breakfast in his garage - called, Breakfast in the Garage (BITG). This is the fourth BITG he has hosted, and this time we had ~120 people.
BITG is not only hosted and paid for by Kevin, but he also matches all the donations people contribute for charity - he started collecting donations because people insisted on pitching in for breakfast. Kevin gives the donations to help fund brain cancer research.
Cars at BITG included four Aston Martins - my '07 V8V, P1nkyUp's '06 V8V, Sunir's (who IS ALIVE) DB9, and another guys' DB7 Vantage. Plus a few Ferraris, some Lamborginis (including THREE Aventadors), a bunch of GTRs, Lotus's (Loti?), Porsches, M's, AMG's, etc etc etc.
SCoSC had about 220 cars show up - should have been more but we've been rained on a LOT lately, including today. The fact that we had the turnout that we did was pretty awesome. Each of the 220+ cars paid an entry fee - which is a donation to charity, given to help fund breast cancer research.
If anyone is interested in participating in the future, just hop on Facebook and pull up Supercars on State Street's page, or google them, or contact me. And if anyone is looking for a worthy cause for donation, I'd be happy to put you in touch with one of the groups supported by SCoSC or BITG.
Anyway, my favorite pic from the event that's been posted so far

We had a few photographers with us so there will be more pics coming once they're ready. I don't think these were retouched - I pulled them straight off Facebook and nobody's really had time since getting back to do much, if any, editing.
I'll post up some more when they're ready to go!

Absolutely... wow! ( Insert "Jealous" icon here) Your car looks amazing, congrats on those really nice pics.
Thanks guys!
I've had my V8V for almost 3 years and it still amazes me just how incredibly photogenic the car is. In the pic above, you're seeing 35% tint, stubby antenna, lowering springs, wheel spacers, slightly wider tires (+10mm front and rear) on OEM 19" 7-spoke wheels, and a good cleaning - wash, clay bar, wax. The paint also helps, it's Mercury Silver which is just beautiful. And obviously, some very talented photographers!

pics are starting to pop up on fb
M3 "pace car" behind the police escort, bringing in some cars!

Group of NSXs. I was behind the black one for part of the cruise heading into BITG. That thing is nuts. Turbo'd and done up just right.

E30 M3 Evo 2.5

Interesting wrap on a 599

The orange Z06 has a bunch of ZR1 parts swapped over, and it won "loudest" car at 126 dB. The blue Viper is supercharged, puts down 650 at the wheels, and shoots blue flames out the sides lol

Wow, great photos. I wish I had known about it sooner as I'm close by and would have happily drove the V12V down. Unfortunately, I only found out about it the day before and already had plans scheduled. Next year . . .
Most planning is done on FB now. The Mid-Atlantic section on 6speed used to be pretty active but FB is a much better platform for coordinating events for everyone.
Sent you both a PM.
This particular event is once a year, as are most of them - but there are enough once-a-year events that your summer weekends will fill up VERY quickly!
I would have loved to see it and meet you!
