Clicking sound, now dead battery

Walked out in the garage this morning and heard something clicking fairly loudly. Sounds like it was coming from the passenger door up by the hinge. It is clicking on a consistent five second interval. Almost sounds like the door is unlocking every five seconds.

Whatever it is drained the battery overnight. Drove the car last night everything was fine as far as I know.

Before I get the battery charged up again, any ideas what it is so I don't just drain it again?

Sounds like you might need a new door latch. Read the threads below. Kinda sounds like its a big job. Good luck!

Check the door lock assembly, that might be defective. Those cars are known for that issue and usually get out of alignment.
