How often do you change your oil?

I have a vantage, and run the very expensive Castrol spec oil.
I know folks talk about it being good for 15000miles, but generally, I think the dirt suspended in the oil is probably not good and any extra oxidation that happens during a year, is not that good either.
So, what I do is either yearly, or every 6-8000miles. (and min per year is about 5 k for me with this car)
Plus, I might put the car on the track once or twice a year too.

what do you folks do and why?

Recommended is once per year or 10k miles, whichever comes first. I do mine about once a year (averaging 8k miles per year). If I can get some more track time this year, I'll be doing a mid-summer refresh just to be on the safe side. I use all-OEM stuff for it.

Yearly here. My annual km are well under 16K / 10K miles. I think your estimate of 6-8K miles is conservative but reasonable. Anything lower would be overkill IMHO.

Regardless of manufacturers recommendations, I have always run no more than 5000 miles on one oil change on any of my cars. I changed the oil when I bought my Aston in 2013, then 1500 miles later to catch any contaminants in case the previous owner neglected it some. I drove 4200 miles last year and just over 3500 miles this year and have the renew kit on its way to change the oil this week while I am off.

Once a year (2k miles). Oild oxidizes and builds up moisture even if it sits for a while, it's good rule of thumb to replace once a year, especially if you drive hard on it (more carbon deposits).

agree on the once a year thing, I did 3200km last time since oil change. but I only pull out the the little metal mesh filters every second change. for me its oil/ filter less than an hour job done
Cheapest engineering preventative maintenance we can do in my opinion.

4k to 5k miles. My indie garage is $235 a change, with me suppling filter and washers. I believe maintenance plays a big role in longevity.

what's with the little mesh filters.... I don't think pulling them is has anything to do with cleaning them, but I do think the quart of oil that comes out of them is worth getting out each oil change.

MichaelD is infamous around these parts
Once a year or 10,000 miles is pretty standard for anyone in Europe, but often its more frequent for people in the US. Car doesn't need it, its just one of those quaint cultural things
