Need advice on unusual 2007 V8V
Came across an interesting 2007 V8V the other day...
http://sanfranciscosportscars.com/20...antage-silver/
It looks kinda promising but the unusual thing is that it only has ~7500 miles on it. I inquired via email, and the dealer claimed that it was last owned by a collector client of his who basically never drove it. Here's the carfax.
Its a little weird that there is no history on the car since 2011. Does that mean the car wasn't serviced since then? Also, when I look up the car registration costs at the DMV, it says "Unable to determine registration fees due. Current application in process." Which is kind of unsettling.
What do you think? Should I be wary of this car?

Car fax shows that the car was first sold by "Silicon Valley Group", they continued to service it until 2011 (Los Gatos Luxury cars is the same dealer, they just changed their name). I wonder why they didn't hold it for sale but sent it up to San Francisco Sports Cars for sale. I think the price is too high by at least $10,000. Also I'd rather have the 6-Speed manual, especially because of the problems discussed on this site with the earlier automatics. The car is nicely optioned with heated/adjustable seats, Cruise control, and Navigation
Before you go with an Automatic read this thread:

Then you'll probably decide to go with the 6-speed Manual as I did.

I had an older 2007 Vantage with the manualand I found the clutch particularly heavy especially in stop and go traffic. I now have a 2009 with the sport shift and find it quite enjoyable in manual mode it is a little bit old-school but it gives the car a lot of character and you're still involved I seriously doubt if I would get another manual after my sport shift experience which tells youthat is all about and individuals preference
1- Sportshift sucks
2- That price is hideous, I paid a similar price for my 09 with 26k miles almost a year back.

Thanks for the replies guys, I agree that the price is too high. Looks like they are trying to leverage the low mileage to get a higher price.
Assuming they are able to move on price, what do you think about the car itself? The sport shift woes are good to read, thanks.
I was wondering what you guys thought of the fact that there were no carfax maintenance records since 2011. Seems a bit weird to me. Is that normal? Also, the dmv issue seems to add a little extra suspicion as well.

The title is that you wanted advice on an unusual 2007 Vantage - the only thing unusual about this car is that it's about $15,000 over priced! 7,500 miles on a 2007 Vantage is not all that unusual. Many have Vantages that hardly drive them for a variety of reasons, some like mine are daily driven and have a lot of miles, which is more unusual.
Looking for a Used Vantage V8, then do a search on "Autotrader" and search the whole US to get a sense for what's available and typical prices. You may want to travel to get your Vantage and then plan a vacation to bring it home--that's what I did for about 2,000 miles.

(Please note that I have no financial relationship with this AM dealer, just thought you might like the car.)

And it has the AM Power Pack which I doubt this dealer knows. However, be aware Toro Red only has that candy apple color in the sun / bright lights. In your garage & on cloudy days it is very dark - almost a maroon.

The price looks good to me. My2007 Vantage with 2900 miles that I bought last August for $69,000 with a Aston 1 year pre owned warranty did not have the Power pack on the car at the time of purchase. It also has a stick,!
