2014/15 Vantage GT Owner Feedback

Anyone own or driven the Vantage GT? Thoughts? Considering one over
a 911 Turbo as its not as common. I drove the new Vantage S which is a little less sportier than the GT.

Got my GT Roadster in October and a new 991 C4S Cab in November (had a 991 C2 Cab before then) ... What I can tell you (and I relayed this in an earlier post) is that they are totally different cars - maybe the comparison to 997 would be better but the 991 is an insanely good but somewhat sterile car - you'd have to do a lot before it let you actually mess up. The GT is a totally driver-controlled machine and right now, that's part of its magic. The other part is that 911s are everywhere but this is nowhere, so there is great enjoyment from being one of a few rather than one of many. They're both awesome - how could you go wrong?? A 991 Turbo will blow the GT away performance wise but how old will that get on speed limited roads??

Thanks for your feedback. How do you find the ride quality of the GT compared to 991? To me, upside, is GT is not common. Downside, the technology is a bit tired, so your 997 comparison is a good one.

Honestly, it has all the tech you need except the tech that limits the driving experience ... It has Bluetooth, Bluetooth audio, decent navi ... No TFT screens or any if that but the minute you see the leather and stitch quality and the look of it, all that melts away. Only thing is the GT is only 2 seats ... I can at least take 2 of my 4 kiddos in the 991 ... But if that's not an issue and you value the experience of the drive more than its speed, then GT all the way

AMV8GT,

I very much agree with your comments. Any further GT transmission thoughts would be appreciated. I plan to test drive one two weeks and will decide. Thanks.

I think the GT would be a great car to get. I'd say get a manual transmission - but I'll say that for just about any car lol

The nice thing about the GT is it starts off with nothing included and a low price to reflect it. You can add whatever you want and pay accordingly - getting what you want without extra stuff that you don't want.

So the GT Technology pack has streaming audio Bluetooth? Does it also have an updated lightning connector vs the old 30-pin?

No, but you can use the 30-pin to lighting adapter.

Yes of course but for sure streaming music is available now? You wonder why they don't update such a simple thing as an adapter..

Because there is no adapter to go from Lightning back to 30-pin. For those of us who like to use an iPod classic in order to house a huge collection of music, we still can. If the car only came with the lightning connector, the only option would be to connect the iPod classic via the headphone jack which has lesser audio quality and prevents dashboard control.
