Meet Islay Blue

2007 fully-loaded SportShift

As some of you may know, I had a 2007 Meteorite Silver 6-speed MT last year (that turned out to be a lemon). Well today I picked up a clean example of a V8 I plan on daily driving for a while

Sorry for the dirty car pics!

I'm really enjoying this car so much more But now I know how difficult the SportShift can be, especially when starting up a steep hill! It doesn't grab right away, I had to step on it to stop from rolling back..

I love the Arctic Blue interior actually. Feels relaxing and it's super clean, too, although I'm not sure about keeping the blue tinted windows. I wanted something different this time so it works out, and the previous single owner customized this car with every single option, including reversing camera and iPod connector. All it needs now is new front brakes and clear tails.

My previous 6-speed was a nightmare and I lost a lot of money on it. I felt uncomfortable after driving it each time, the HVAC was not working well, and it kept overheating intermittently so that I got stuck a few times in the middle of traffic hot and sweating (this was last summer). The mechanics couldn't even figure out the problem after testing it for 3 days and I wasn't going to spend a fortune trying to fix it. I simply hated it. So any future car sellers take note, better to trade in to a dealer that can fix a car than pass on a problem to a poor unsuspecting buyer!

Of course what really happens is that, rather spend money to fix it, the dealership sends the nightmare car off to the auction where it gets bought by a used car dealer who then passes the problem to a poor unsuspecting buyer.

Perhaps.. But some used car places that sell these kinds of cars have a short 30-day warranty, at least from a few places I looked at.
